It really is the shock mount: it does it when dismounted from the camera held by its cold shoe mount, but doesn't do it when held by the body of the mic itself.Other than that, it does everything as advertised. Its noise profile seems pretty good even at +20dB (and is _way_ better than the DSLR's built-in preamp, but that's normal) and its directionality seems about what you can reasonably expect despite its plasticy interference tube. Saving weight is good, anyway. From yt reviews I've seen, it has a more pleasing EQ/sound profile to my ears than the Røde.Sure, I have a few other minor niggles with it. Most of them aren't worth mentioning because every amateur expects more from a shotgun than it can reasonably deliver. They're not laser mics, don't have linear EQ on average and won't reject lateral noise completely. No product is perfect.
