I've used these water filter replacements for two years now and haven't noticed any difference between them and the original Crystal Quest filters besides the cost. These filters are less than half the price of the ones from Crystal Quest.

Better priced than original manufacturer. Presumably does the job just as well, though difficult to tell without a water analysis. Wouldn't be surprised if it comes from the same factory.

I got an unlucky filter with what must be the supposed bad coconut carbon out there. Water has foul smell; noticed very strong smell while priming flushing and subtle smell after flushing 5 gal. So likely three things went wrong. 1. Somebody wasn't paying attention at the gac carbon factory. 2. QA at gac factory failed to notice. 3. QA at filter factory failed. It's a pretty useless item in attic now. Might be okay to use as garden drip system filter.

Only compatible with connection. I wrote to the seller with no reply. After 3 months it started stinking. real bad. Buy the real one to last 5 years.
