Nippon America's UHF VHF FM Distribution Amplifier is perfect for indoor TV and antennas requiring more signal gain. Please Note: This will not boost or improve a bad/weak signal, it is made to compensate for signal loss from splitters and long cable runs. Pick a spot in your television cable run where you can install the booster. A TV antenna signal booster is installed in-line that is, the cable must connect to the input and output of the booster. If you're only boosting the signal for one television, it's logical to install it near the television. If you're boosting signal for multiple televisions, choose a spot near your antenna line splitter. Installation Note: TV amplifiers that have a power supply (such as this model) should be installed indoors, or in a location that will not be subject to any moisture. A booster should be installed as close as possible to the antenna, and before any coax cable splitters that may also be used. NOTE ABOUT USE and POTENTIAL FOR STATION LOSS: A signal amplifier/booster will only improve a signal that is already present. This booster should work for any channel that is used by off-air TV stations. There are always situations where an amplifier does not help. If the station is particularly weak, but there are other very strong channels nearby. This amplifier amplifies everything within the point where a local strong station could create interference that covers up the weak station you are attempting to receive. If the station is particularly weak, and/or there is a long length of cable, or splitters to other TV’s between the antenna and this amplifier, certain channels may also be lost.

**Q: Did you lose any channels before/after this amp?**
A: My TV has a signal input on it and sometimes I would lose a channel because it was not strong enough.  This amp boosted it so that does not happen.

**Q: What’s the in- out switch for?**
A: Following info below is from Amazon's description on their web site. The switch is for the "FM Trap" function. I assume, but do not know, it compensates for FM interference when present. If used the same unit for 25 years and replaced it with the new model last week. It fixed my problem (dead or dying DA) and I am back in business. I have never used the FM Trap. I sometimes had it "IN" and sometimes "OUT" and could never see a difference.

In most cases slide switch to (IN) position. 6.Red light indicates that the amplifier is plugged into 110 volt outlet. 7.Amplifier performance varies from one location to another. 8.This amplifier generally WILL NOT WORK WITH TIVO. 9.Check the back of amplifier package for specifications and installation diagram. 10. Works with cable modems. 11. Amplifies indoor/outdoor antenna and cable signals for best reception.

**Q: Can anyone tell me if this diminishes vhf in favor of uhf? [the cda4 channel master does]**
A: This type of amplifier will boost EVERYTHING nearly equally -- VHF, FM, UHF, Cellphone "LTE" noise, etc.

**Q: will this work with pingbingding ampified anntena?**
A: If it is a standard antenna and uses the standard cable & connection, I am sure it will work. I own three of these. Very strong little amp.
