Sturdy, convenient, sanitary. One of the best camping investments I've ever made!
I LOVE this thing! Most years, I go camping for about two weeks at Pennsic, a large (10,000+ people) medieval history event. There are port-a-johns liberally spread throughout the campsite, but there's usually at least a short walk from my tent to the nearest facility. Not a problem during the day, but I usually have to get up at least once a night...sometimes with some urgency. A friend purchased one of these a few years ago and sang its praises, so I decided to make the investment before 2015's event. Let me tell you, it's the best investment I've made in my camping gear! It was so nice to be able to get up in the middle of the night, not have to fumble around for a robe and a flashlight, stumble over the grass and gravel, and finally make my way to the port-a-john. Since I wasn't up as long, fumbling around as much, it was so much easier to get back to sleep once I was done with "my business." As another reviewer mentioned, the bags come with sheets of cheap-ish toilet paper and a hand-wipe packet. I kept a couple of rolls of toilet paper in my tent, so I didn't use the TP sheets included. The Cleanwaste Toilet is sturdy; I'm a plus-sized gal and I was comfortable sitting on it...no worries about it collapsing under me. I changed out the waste bags each morning, and they were very sanitary and easy to use. No smells in my tent. The unit is very easy to transport and isn't heavy. Now that I have the unit, I'll just have to purchase a new box of bags each summer, and I'm good to go! (No pun intended. LOL) Amazon has offered a much better price than many of the camping stores. I'm very, very happy with this purchase and highly recommend it!

Great product! Still love it months later! No problems with bags these days.
We owned one of these years ago, and accidentally sold it with our camper. Now that we are back into teardrop camping we wanted another. In general we find the the product to be really sturdy and well made! Opening is quite easy, however its a little tricky to collapse, many pinched fingers, but it's getting better over time. We've not had a problem with it being tippy at all. My one beef is that the liners that are sold for it seem to be less quality these days. Had this set up in our secure add a room tent during a thunder storm. Usually I am the only one to use this so I don't have to trot to the campground bathrooms in the middle of the night. I can usually use it twice with no problem. However during the storm, in desperation, my husband also used it. When I went to remove the liner in the morning, the bag burst all over our add a room tent. We got to spend the morning cleaning!!! We'd never had that issue in the past with me, and the kids using it.. We were quite ginger over the next few days of the trip and made sure to change the liner regularly. I still like the product, but am wary of the liners...

Excellent Alternative to Porta Potti
While Porta Pottis have their place, I found this setup, GO toilet, better suited for my needs. We use this in campgrounds with poor or crowded restroom facilities or when off on our own. Very sturdy when set up. I have mine placed in a separate tall toilet tent and also use a plywood base underneath the legs. For a much cheaper alternative to the company waste bags I use Glad ForceFlexPlus 13 gallon Tall Kitchen bags in conjunction with a canister of Poo Powder. These bags are bottom reinforced with leak, rip and odor protection. Found a good price on these thru my local WalMart. Using enough Poo Powder as necessary, we can do a daily no mess change out. The powder does need liquid to activate, so in case of little #1 we keep a spray bottle handy to add enough. Nice having a toilet right at your campsite. The only complaint I have is that the legs can be a little difficult to fold in. Stiff plastic tabs need to be pressed in. Much easier and smaller to transport than a Porta Potti. Great addition to my RV, camp gear and as an emergency item.

Nice product but save a bunch of money and just use a garbage bag!
Their instructions call for the use of their disposable proprietary waste bags which costs a few dollars apiece for one-time use! I can't blame them for trying to make money but just use a garbage bag instead, like I have shown in the photos. This has several advantages besides costing a few cents instead of a few dollars. With their bags you have to reach into the bowl partially to pull the bag out. Also their bags only covers the inside of the bowl. By using your own garbage bag or maybe a doubled-up bag just to be safe, you cover the entire seat area so any splashes that might occur don't need to be cleaned up. Also you don't have to reach anywhere near the bowl to remove the bag, tie it up, and dispose of it! One other complaint- The plastic tabs that you have to squeeze to disengage the legs are SUPER HARD to push! So hardthat I had to use pliers to squeeze them. I ended up drilling a couple of holes in the plastic to make them a little bit more flexible. So, hey manufacturer, please make the tabs a little bit easier to squeeze next time. Otherwise great product! Sturdy and well designed. And the best part is it's very compact and easy to store under a car seat etc.

Exactly what I was looking for
We just used this toilet for a one week camping trip. We had access to a public bathroom at the campground, but I didn't want to have to go with my kids every single time, nor did I want to make the trek in the middle of the night knowing there were other campers right next to the facilities. We LOVED having the ease of access to use the toilet in our privacy tent placed just outside of our tent. My one son has mild autism and is very inhibited by going in public facilities. Camping is especially difficult. Having the privacy that this toilet inside the privacy tent offered made our trip much more enjoyable and stress-free. I weigh 170 lbs and it was a very comfortable and secure experience. It was inside our privacy tent in 95 degree heat. Even being enclosed all day, it did not stink! It was grass under the tarp and the toilet was very stable. Being plastic construction, we were able to transport it on the rear cargo rack outside of the vehicle without concern for the weather damaging it. What we learned about this toilet from our first one-week outing: 1) Only use the bags that are made for this toilet. The other bags we bought did not quite fit right and one ended up spilling some as we were removing the bag. 2) The poo powder is definitely worth every penny! Use it or you could end up with a big mess. Don't try to overfill the bag with waste, but do use plenty of powder to ensure adequate clumping. Even with a spill, you can get it completely cleaned up with the simple design and materials.

Really handy!
This product is great. It does have its limitations. Don't expect to be able to sit and lean on it like a real toilet. It's not mounted to the ground and will tip because it's a tripod. It is very sturdy as long as you are sitting properly. The bag kit that came with it worked well. I bought Hefty gallon sized ziplock bags and 13 gallon white kitchen garbage bags. Used these with the bulk canister Poo Powder and it worked well. Cheaper but drawbacks are: you can see through the clear bag, unlike the blue kit bag; Also, the gallon ziplock opening isn't as wide mouthed as the kit bag. The legs were a little tricky to fold. They are designed to be this way so it doesn't fold up under you. I twisted the legs a little and they released easier. My biggest suggestion is to set this up in your bathroom at home and use it BEFORE taking it on the road. You will get used to it and be more comfortable on your trip. I used it in my minivan RV conversion with no issues. Oh and one other tip... open the Poo Powder canister OVER the bag/potty. It's kinda like opening those lemonade/koolaid powder canisters... can be a little messy if you aren't paying attention.

Does The Job
I got a chuckle seeing the "video review" choice for this product. Somehow, I don't think it would be a good idea. lol This thing works fine. Takes a couple seconds to set up. The legs are a little hard to get "unlocked" at first, because the entire thing is molded plastic. When set up, the lid looks like it will stay put like a seat back, but that isn't the case. I wouldn't bother trying to use it as pictured. It just falls off, because it fits into slots that don't lock down. It's pretty easy to set up the Wag Bag inside of the netting. You'll have to make sure that you spread out the baggy to provide a big enough target. The Wag Bag kit comes with toilet paper and an antiseptic wet nap. There's a powder inside the bag, so you have to open it up slowly when getting ready to "install" it in the netting. I would recommend having your own TP, as the stuff that's provided isn't that great. Baby wipes are good to have on hand. When done with your business, the bag has enough extra plastic to fold over the top and avoid touching anything. It pushes easily into the zip-loc style pouch, and then you can stuff the wet naps in and zip it closed. Easy to dispose of in any trash can, too. I'm about 250 lbs., and this thing supports my weight with no problems. It doesn't feel shaky at all. It's a little shorter than a normal toilet, but it's not a problem. As for storage, it doesn't take up much space at all. It's light, and has a carrying handle.

Very hard to fold legs
Works great except it is very hard to fold the legs, especially the front one. I have to use hand tools. We've had it for 8 years but I'm looking for something that folds easier but will still use the Clean Waste bags, which we prefer over others we've tried.

Extremely portable and lightweight
Super awesome product. Very lightweight and portable. It can hold my fat ass, so that means it's heavy-duty as well.

Perfect camping toilet!
Bought this awesome portable toilet for the vestibule of my tent so I do not have to venture outside at night or if it is raining. Strong, heavy duty construction and yet very light weight and folds down into a compact briefcase size, which I can easily load onto my motorcycle camping trips. Also, it has a man-sized toilet seat with oval opening for added comfort and utility. You can use regular compostable or plastic bags if you wish. Bags are securely kept in place by closed toilet seat. Hint.....just bring along kitty litter and put some in the bag so liquids clump up and odours are minimized, which makes disposal easy. This is one of the best camping accessories I ever purchased, and would highly recommend the product for its design, quality, and functionality.

Game changer
I came very close (literally had it picked out and cash ready) to buying a chemical toilet (porta-loo style) until I went on a trip with someone else who actually had one. It SMELLED, it was HEAVY when full, it was hard to keep clean, it filled up within 3 days and had to be emptied, which was a huge event requiring a major trip off site to a designated spot (and a disgusting process). And while they were away, nobody could use the loo! I immediately decided, I didn't want that. I want to camp for as long or as short as I want without needing constant trips off site. I want my loo smelling (and being) COMPLETELY clean at all times. I LOVE this loo! My camping areas don't permit burying waste, so I grab some "bathroom bin" liners, commode powder, and ziplock bags to go with it. After each person uses it, they're responsible to "flush" (remove liner with your goings into a ziplock, seal it up and place into the lined paint bucket). They then wipe the loo down with the same antibacterial wipes you use for your hands, and insert a fresh liner bag for the next person. The lined paint bucket, has a lid resting on top (see photo). All scent is triple contained. The loo room smells (and is) 100% fresh and clean for the next person. It also never "fills up". In the event that the paint bucket fills up (which takes roughly 2x-3x as long as a porta-loo, due larger capacity and no water flush) draw the bucket liner closed, press down and seal its lid, and pull out another paint bucket! Waste disposal means nothing more than an odourless and discreet black rubbish bag into your home wheelie bin after return, or a trip to the local tip during your stay. The only "con" of this loo wasn't any problem for me, but rather for my 63yr old mum. The seat is slightly lower than a typical home loo. She used it okay for 3 days, but on return she confessed she struggled to get up and down due to old knee issues (and simply getting older). In consideration for her, I now bring a foldaway toilet surround with me when she's coming. I don't bother when it's just me though. Don't be fooled, I'm not at all 'in shape' (BMI 32. All flubber) I'm just young enough to still have no trouble getting up and down from the floor unassisted. If you can do that, you'll be fine using it as is. If you can't get up from ground easily... sorry. Your legs aren't strong enough for the deep squat required. Invest in a surround. Don't risk tipping over! Until now I've always used the provided site toilet. In Australia, that means smelly, gross longdrops full of spiders, and crowded camp sites full of other people who also don't have their own loo. I can't IMAGINE going back to that. This stays so clean! It packs so small! And it's right in my camp site! No walking at night! I'm never camping without this again.

Is there such a thing as a life saving portable toilet? Yes there is!
Coincidentally, my camping trip was planned exactly when I developed a UTI. There are washrooms in the campground, but in the middle of the night, my poor infected urine was not to be contained for the hike. You flip the 3 legs open on the folded up potty and BAM! Incontinence emergency averted! I bought the matching toilet in a bag things that come with the powder you have to add to the bag. You put the the powder in the bag, then place the bag it in the mesh holder below the seat that is attached to your potty. Make sure you have the bag placed right so you don't whiz on the floor of your tent! The seat then closes over the bag and there is a lid to cover everything when you're not using it. I found I got at least 2-3 pees in before I had to tie up and dispose the bag. The powder gels up your pee and I found there was next to no smell. I disposed of mine every morning in the trash. I did not #2 so I can't comment on that but I'm sure it would work fine. Apparently the same company makes bags that already have the powder added but they weren't available in time for my trip. The ones I got worked fine. I used this potty every night of my week long trip and it saved me from p*ssing myself or my bed. I'm not a small girl so if you're worried about tipping it over and spilling the pee, fret not! This thing is strong and sturdy and will even double as a chair when not in use. It's nice and small because it can fold back up again when you are done with it. Fellas, your nads might hang a little low for this potty if you have to sit for any reason so you may want to watch out for that. Otherwise, I highly recommend this lifesaving toilet.
