Is Bandido better than the Bandida version? I don't know which one to buy.

It's essentially the same game. Bandida is the newer version or sequel if you like. It's very slightly more complicated but you can just ignore the extra rules and play it as vanilla Bandido if you like. You can also buy both and play the super mash-up version.

It shows instructions in Spanish on the images. Are there also instructions in English?

There are several different languages printed on the instructions. Including English.

It says this is a sequel, do I need to have played the first game first or can we pick this up and play this as first timers?

This is an independent game. You do not need to have played the other game or need it to play this one. Helvetiq Bandida has the same game play and similar cards but with three modes of play or different aims:1, close exits before Bandida escapes; 2, help Bandida escape via the ladder card;3 or, if you have the other game, use the Bandido supercard from that game to help both (the lovers) escape.

How many cards needed for solo ? Huge table needed for all the deck!

Use the whole deck, I’ve played it both solo and with 6 or more players. A biggish table is useful but I treat the edges as limits to the games.
