Acupressure mat and pillow set

I think the key to enjoying a mat like this is to try and let your body relax and get used to the sensation. The first few times I tried, I focussed too much on how spikey it felt and only lasted a few minutes. But the more you use it, the more your body gets used to how it feels and the more time I spend lying on it.I tend to use mine if I get early signs of back/neck pain - after about 10-20 mins on the mat I find all the muscles have relaxed and the pain eases. Previously I used a massager, but that only managed to target one set of muscles at a time, whereas this does all in one go.Having used the mat quite a bit, I also now use it for stress relief too. If I'm finding myself a little wound up, I take 10 minutes out of my day to lie on the mat, switch off my brain and let the mat release any muscle tension. I've also found I sometimes fall asleep on top of it now, though that does tend to wake me up in the middle of the night when my back feels it's spent too long on the mat.Overall the quality seems fine and the colour matches the images. For the price, I think it was a great purchase and I'd recommend trying it if it sounds interesting to you

Relaxing and therapeutic

I bought the mat and pillow set, as I had read about Chinese Traditional Medicine and the ‘bed of nails’ being used for meditation and well-being. The acupressure is supposed to increase blood circulation which releases endorphins in your body to start a self-healing effect by reducing muscle tension and increasing your state of well-being and calmness. I had not tried this type of therapy before.The mat and pillow come in protective clear plastic bags with zip locks. The foam mat is 2cm thick, 40cm wide and 67cm long. The covers are removable with Velcro fastenings.The mat itself has 230 fixed spikey discs, each disc has 27 spikes ... that’s 6210 spikes ha! It is good quality and the spikes are definitely sharp.I managed to use the mat bare back for 45 mins with a little nap. After 5 minutes the sensation does feel uncomfortable. Just concentrate on your breathing then after 20 minutes you body relaxes completely and your skin warms up. I think you need to use it for at least 20 minutes to feel any benefit. I was really impressed with the first sesh and I am looking forward to using this as a daily ritual. For the price, it’s a bargain.

Having reviewed similar products on a number of beauty sites selling for nearly three times the price I decided to buy this as it was a lot cheaper. I didn’t know what to expect but as someone who has suffered for back pain and gets a ton of knots in my shoulders I wanted to see if this would help and I must say I love it. I use this now almost every evening as part of my ‘wind down’ routine and not only does it help with the back pain it’s very calming. Would very much recommend

I lay on this with my sports bra on but it stopped the sensation, so better on bare skin. Once you lay down just breath and keep still, it’s quite relaxing. I’m not sure about the pillow section but I do use the mat/back section happily.

Really good product and great price. It certainly works and does feel strange to begin with, but has helped with my back pain and generally tired body. You can actually feel the heat it creates long after you come off the mat.

My son uses this before bed and he has really seen a difference with how quickly he can get to sleep.

I bought this as I had read reviews that it helped with anxiety. Once on the mat, it is not comfortable to move around and so it forces you to stay completely still. This then enables you to think about and control your breathing. I would recommend it for this.
