Drained ridiculously large amount of standing rainwater from our meadow. Mulch, grass clippings, debris and small sticks did not clog the unit. Dug 24” hole at low spot, surrounded with 36” high hardware cloth to help keep out debris. Placed unit in 5-gallon plastic bucket with many many 1/4 inch drilled holes. Set unit and bucket in ground and it worked perfectly. A longer power cord would be nice but this unit did the job. Auto mode worked perfect. Set level to lowest position. Β I drained 50k gallons or so out of my back yard, it took less then a day. I'm on my second pump because the first one had a problem turning on by itself. The company sent me a new pump, no questions asked. The second one works flawlessly so far, don't forget to get a check valve! I ran a line 200' to my ditch, well worth the money. It also sucked one of the rocks in the picture through the pump (roughly 1-1/8" rock) all the way through the pump and into my line and got stuck in the check valve. So keep in mind you don't want to place it mixed in with larger rocks that can get stuck in your check valve.UPDATE: After having this pump in place for awhile (I pulled it out and stored it during winter). The auto on works intermittently now. I dropped from 5 stars to 4 since I'm on my second pump already. Once I shake the pump it will turn on, pump the water level down then turn off. It still pumps great but defeats the purpose of having an auto pump.
