Stairs very small. *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2019* This is a very cute house and well made. I had to laugh though when I saw the size of the stairs. I bought this for my rabbits who are normal size, but there is no way they could use these stairs. They are only about 4 inches across. I took a pic with a Coke can for reference so you can see size. They would be more suited for a rat or ferret . Much too narrow for rabbits, puppies, or any but the smallest kittens. The opening to the door is only about 7 inches high as well, which was too low for my rabbits. If they army crawled they could fit through, but they couldn't hop normally. There is space where you could take a saw and enlarge the opening at the top as the interior is large enough for a rabbit, small cat, or a very small dog. I would warn against getting this for rabbits though the wood is very soft and the rabbits love it. I only had mine down an hour and they had nibbled away the wood in multiple places. Since the house was so cute and well put together. I decided to modify it into a tower for my cats who loved the balcony. I had bought two so I'm going to stack them together.
