fernco plumbing supplies - good stuff
fernco makes good stuff. for some reason the drain line from my kitchen sink (2-inch PVC)to the outside line came apart at the 90' elbow. its been dry here, and the slab on old grade homes like mine are surfing on a never ending undulating sea of clay. one more home made repair.

Exactly as described and expected

Leakproof and simple!
Worked perfectly! I was nervous at first because this was going to be inside the ceiling. I was fearful that it would somehow not fit snugly and leak. I was connecting the existing 2" metal drain pipe to a new 2" PVC pipe. The outer diameters were quite different, since plastic PVC is thicker than the metal pipe. I tightened the bands and the fit became tight and leak proof! I tested it for weeks actually before sealing back up my ceiling. BTW... there is a YouTube video from Home Depot on these couplers that I found before deciding to buy this and it gives a great overview on them. You may want to check that out. I also found other videos from plumbers and many swear by these! In any case, I'm pleased and it was so simple!

Neede this when you cannot glue PVC pipe.
These couplings ae nice to have handy in case you may need one in an emergency situation.
