Can these be used with water?

Yes, absolutely. They are gel water crayons. Very similar to the gelatos. But once dey, gelatos are set. I think the FC gel crayons re-activate with water after they've dried the first time. So you'd have to be careful with layers.

What are these like, ink or wax?

Unlike ink or wax, gel crayons have a buttery texture. They glide effortlessly on smooth surfaces like paper and chipboard and are easy to blend and smudge.

Can you easily wipe the crayon with a soft cloth and then rub the cloth onto a raw polymer clay to embellish textures?

Yes you can. I have used these when making clay pieces for assemblages and it worked well for me.

Do these show up on black paper?

Yes, they are very bright and would work great on black paper.
