Absolutely fab book set. They are aimed at young teens but they are more than suitable for adults.Great for any fans of LoTRs or GOT, less characters, less complicated backwards and forwards plots so easier to follow a great intro to that kind of world. Highly recommend.Only thing I would say is Book 7 Eraks ransom is actually Book 5 as the events occur prior to book 5&6. Dunno whether it's a typo or what but definitely read 7 before 5. Enjoy!!

Both my son and I loved reading this series. I loved listening to him read and once he'd go to bed I would end up reading the next chapter and sometimes the whole book. Just the right balance of action, love of outdoors, characterization and good storytelling. The series embraces other cultures, it is in a parallel world, Hibernia is Ireland, Araluen is England, Skandia, Nihon-ja is Japan, Arrida=middle east etc so it has been good way to introduce and discuss cultures.

My children are really enjoying these and are reading through them. They also like the Percy Jackson books, and The Chronicles of Narnia.

These books are great, can't put it down once I started to read them, I had been given the first 4 books, now I have the full 12 books, and looking forward to reading them, these are the best books I have read in a long time, fantastic reading,
