Effective Fiber Supplement with a Few Minor Drawbacks I've been using Metamucil for several weeks now, and I can confidently say it’s made a noticeable difference in my digestive health. This 3-in-1 psyllium husk powder really lives up to its promise: it supports regularity, helps curb appetite between meals, and contributes to overall gut health. One of the biggest benefits I’ve experienced is improved consistency and regularity—within just a few days of taking it daily, I felt lighter, less bloated, and more “in rhythm.” It’s also great knowing that it helps support heart health by lowering cholesterol, which makes it more than just a basic fiber supplement. That said, there are a couple of small things that keep this from being a full 5-star product: 1. Texture and mixing – Even when stirred thoroughly, the powder tends to thicken quickly and can become a bit gelatinous if you don’t drink it immediately. It's not awful, but the texture might be off-putting for some, especially if you're new to fiber drinks. 2. Taste – I tried the orange flavor, which is decent and not too sweet, but there is still a slightly artificial aftertaste. It’s manageable, especially if mixed with cold water, but not exactly enjoyable. 3. Frequency – You have to take it consistently (1–3 times a day depending on your needs), so it does require sticking to a routine to get the full benefits. Despite those minor issues, it’s an effective and reliable fiber supplement that does what it claims. If you’re looking for something to help with regular digestion, mild appetite control, and general gut wellness, this is a solid choice. Plus, the large container lasts quite a while, so it’s a good value. I’d definitely recommend it—but be prepared for a bit of a learning curve with the texture.

I tried these as I wanted to be mindful of sugars and cholesterol and I probably don’t have a high enough fibre intake but after starting using them I realised that it makes things very regular in a gentle, natural way, as such 🙂 I’ve found that these American ones don’t have the “repeat” factor that the Australian ones do so I’ll buy these in future. I only take 2 a day so this pack will last a while.
