Artful Etching: Midnight Garden Paperback – October 30, 2018

This book is wonderful.. I love it it is addicting and fun.. It's not like the other scratch books i have ... It lets you develop your knowledge of different shapes to add texture and every one i do comes out special.. they give you a pic of a completed one so you can see ideas.. but it's up to you to decide ultimately how you scratch.... And the pics are sort of matted in a way that you can frame then easily and they come out looking great!! I have given them as gifts and everyone loves them.. thank you for giving me the opportunity to create such quirky, fun beautiful little art pieces.. are there more books like this?

I used to do etching when I was kid. My mom would get me these ones, usually animals, where they would provide the picture and you would etch over it. I also had blank etching rainbow pages! This felt like a blast from the past. The pages are not like the ones I used to do as it already has the outline etched out for you, but I've found it pretty great to use! People have complimented my work as well!

Samples are helpful, yet allow for creativity

I originally brought this as a gift for our Christmas in July celebration. The coworker who chose it was very excited and opened it to try it right away. She was smiling from ear-to-ear! Very nice relaxing activity for making a beautiful creative piece. I purchased one for myself as well! I have enjoyed the adult coloring books but love this as an alternative. Looking forward to using this fall when more time will be spent indoors.

This is definitely different than the normal scratch off books and it is testing my creative abilities. Im normally one to enjoy following the lines, but with this, the end result is entirely up to you. There is no right or wrong! While on some pages there is more to detail than others, I think this purchase was well worth it. I think it is really helping me to think outside the box and to concentrate more on the negative space and what I can do with it. For anyone that loves scratch books, here is a product to change how you look at it!

I was expecting this to be like a trace the line and you make a picture, but they give you an outlines picture and then you add detail, which they show you before and after ideas of how to do it. it's more trying to teach you how to add texture and detail rather than you "coloring" for the fun of it. If you want the teaching part then its great, but its not what I wanted, wish I looked into it more

This book of scratch off art is wonderful! I have tried many scratch off projects and this one is my favorite. The finished product is frame worthy. With some kits you have to really press hard to make a mark, often gouging the background in the process. With this product the stylus moved smoothly and it was easy to make marks. I would definitely recommend this.

I saw this and thought it'd be fun. I did this when I was a kid and liked it. It's fun and easy, but I hate how each one is in an ugly, bright frame. The pic itself is pretty small - maybe 4 x 6. They should be 8 x 10 at least. I understand the reason for the frame, so you can hold onto it as you scratch, but it's way too thick. I've done one and it came out pretty, but I cut the frame off of it. I'd recommend it though.

Loved the manga one and searched for more like it for over a year and a half! So excited to have found this!

It was amazing. I managed to be creative without worrying. It was a beautiful distraction and kept my hands busy. The designs are lovely, fantastic quality material and great time had using this book.

Bit expensive for what it delivers

Love how you can add your own details to the pictures. Makes you feel like a little artist lol

Terrible
