Knife was packaged well, with the blade oiled, in a plastic bag, wrapped in bubble wrap, in an appropriate sized box. The damascus design was really nice and etched just right. Basic factory edge was serviceable, though I touched it up prior to gifting. The handle was also beautifully crafted and attached well - clearly we haven't tested it through time, but looks to be done right. A little more heft to this one than the other previously mentioned, but still very comfortable and balanced. Again, the thing everyone commented on was the nice file-work on the spine.
