Excellent value for money
I ordered two, one for either side of my garden. They look great when they are on and are very sturdy

Great In Theory - However....
It's mid November and I have a sunny south-west facing garden. Even in reasonably good, bright, changeable weather these solar powered lamps can't generate enough charge to run for more than 30 minutes after sunset. ________________________________________________ The current product listing (at Nov 2018) is rather confusing, and incorrect in a couple of places, so before I give a detailed review, let me explain what you actually get for your money: CONTENTS OF BOX Two lantern bodies with built in solar cells and pre-fitted lithium phosphate rechargeable batteries Four, 250mm long threaded rods Two threaded shepherds crook hanging hooks A pair of plastic ground spikes for the rods A pair of 210mm long plastic mounts with ground spikes for mounting both lamps at low level. Instruction sheet You can deduce from this that the lights can be mounted in a number of ways - one swinging on a hook high up and the other at ground level (as in the picture), both swinging on hooks at half the height, both at ground level, and so on. You could just as easily hang therm from a tree on your own string. LIGHT OUTPUT The product description above gives light outputs of 15 lunen in high output mode and 12 in low. I assume you need to ignore that, as the box tells me the output is half that at 7.5 lumen! It also advises that on low output mode they give 6 lumen for 5 hours then 3 after that (assuming a full charge of course). To give you a frame of reference, one candlepower equals 12.57 lumens. RECHARGING PERFORMANCE Each lamp has five small solar cells built into the top cover. They charge up the internal battery, and the amount of light you get that night will depend on how much sun it saw the previous day. Duracell quotes run times of the lamp on low power as follows Summer - under 10 hours after a full day of sun, under 6 hours on an overcast day. Spring & Autumn - under 6 hours after a full day of sun, under 4 hours on an overcast. Winter isn't quoted at all but will be significantly less! These figures represent the maximum illumination time (real times very likely to be less) and are based on optimal charging, with the solar cells optimally angled to best catch the light. The instruction sheet gives an inclination angle diagram for this, but seeing as the lamps either hang by gravity or stand vertical on a pole, and the cell angle cannot be adjusted, it's basically useless. It's also highly likely your lamps will not be in full direct sun even on the sunniest of days, with obstructions such as nearby houses, trees, plants, fences and so-on casting a shadow for at least part of the day. So again, this will reduce the illumination time. CONCLUSIONS All of this adds up to my conclusion that this can only really be considered as a decorative light for the brighter months of the year. Don't rely on it to see your way up the garden path after you come back from the pub on a dark winters night, because it will have died from lack of charge not long after sunset. As a decorative lamp it's potentially fine. For my money it's solid and robust enough, and the faceted glass shade does spread the light around in a pretty pattern, albeit a dim one. But it begs the question of why it's necessary to have a light permanently shining in your garden, with no way of switching it off unless it runs out of juice. There is such a thing as light pollution, which really annoys astronomers and can badly effect wildlife. NASA has some interesting images of Earth on it's web site, demonstrating massive increases in urban night-time light levels over the last then years, due to the spread of LED lights. It's rapidly becoming an issue of environmental concern. So I think these lights would have been better if they could have been operated momentarily by sensor at higher power instead, with a switched option of permanently on at low power, for occasional summertime party use as decoration. For all these reasons, and because the price is on the high side when you see the competition, I award it three stars.

I love solar lighting, but was let down
I'm a big fan of solar lighting and electronics and have used Duracell spotlights before that all still work. I bought four of these lights with high expectations from the great reviews I saw and they aren't cheap (They come in boxes of two) however once they were all set up, unfortunately one of them no longer lit up after two days or so. So I tried everything including swapping the Duracell rechargeable solar battery with another to help diagnose the issue, tried different sunlight locations, made sure the switch was in the 6h position and tried another night on the 12h position but still got nothing, I found no loose wires internally or corrosion. Great product but unfortunately let down by poor quality control for one of my particular lights. I don't think I can return the light as I don't have the original packaging anymore.

Attractive, well made (and work!)
I was immediately surprised and impressed with these solar lights. What first struck me is the weight of the glass of the lanterns and how attractively designed they were (the difference between these and budget ones you can pick up at DIY stores is quite stark). They are very easy to assemble and come with both ground spike fixings and elevated ones (the hardest part is peeling off the plastic film covering the solar cells!). Each lantern comes with a rechargeable battery (which the solar cells continually recharge on a daily basis - provided they are situated in open/light exposed areas). There's a three way switch on the base allowing you to choose how long you want the light to come on once the sensor detects darkness/dusk. I set ours to the four hour setting and can confirm they do come on and provide a consistent light throughout that time before shutting off. The light they emit isn't spectacular but is easily bright enough to illuminate a surrounding area of a foot or so (and are easilt vsible from much greater distances). I would compare the light to be that of the equivalent intensity of the 'torch' light on an iPhone (pretty good: but the thick glass of the lantern dissipates this a little). Recommended.
