The best deep fryer I’ve owned
Very nice, clean fryer. I’ve only made fresh French fries but the were so easy and perfectly cooked. Clean up was much easier than my earlier deep fryers because of the oil filtering and storage feature of this machine which by the way works perfectly well. Would recommend to my friends.

Easy to Use - Read the Instructions Closely..and Frequently!
I did extensive research and read all the comments available from both Amazon and other websites, before I purchased this T-fal deep fryer. I misjudged the amount of time to heat up the oil; however, once heated, the capabilities of the deep fryer cooked my 6+ pounds (5 batches) of shoestring fries perfectly. The size of this appliance is big, and fortunately I have pantry space to accommodate. I also purchased the cover to also protect the fryer when not in use. Appreciated the tip from another reviewer to keep a baking tray under the fryer, while in use, to catch any (there were very few) oil drips. The oil filtration system works well (read the instructions) and can be easily stored for another use. All parts that are dishwasher safe cleaned up beautifully with no oily residue, and the heating unit can be easily washed with soapy water by hand. Recommend reading the instruction manual often, which provides clear instructions to operate this appliance with very successful results. Very happy with this purchase!

Easy to use. Easy to clean. Food tastes great!
I did a lot of research before buying, including perusing Amazon reviews and having GROK AI do a comparison. I settled on this model, for a few reasons. 1) There were no complaints about the magnetic plug coming out. It does have one as a safety feature, and it sits solidly in the unit with no issues. 2) It's not digital. Yes, I looked at the super-fancy Breville, but a review from a chef advised that all of its digital presets were not accurate. So we went for a simpler, cheaper setup. 3) It has a great cookbook that tells you what settings to use. So far we've tried okra, eggplant and chicken. 4) The oil filtration setup. We did our research and of course said "NO" to using seed oils (seriously, why even suggest that?!). We settled on refined coconut oil, which is solid at room temp. This is very healthy and we've had zero issues with smoking, even though we've had it at the highest temp. 5) Everything is dishwasher safe. So last night, after making eggplant and chicken for stir fry (yum!), we let the oil cool for several hours and hit the filter setting before heading to bed. This morning, I dropped the oil pan, the lid (which keeps you from making a mess while cooking) and the basket into the dishwasher. Easy peezy. We're really happy with it so far!

BEST THERE IS, but could be improved
I’ve owned this The T-Fal fryer for over a year & it is probably the best/most affordable deep fryer you can own for home use. It’s easy to clean. The oil filtration is the main selling point. Makes it very easy to store away. I’ve had no issues with this unit functioning properly. After over a year of use, the unit looks almost brand new still. As long as you drain the oil after every use & clean it out you should be able to keep it looking mostly spotless. THE ISSUES: The “oil bin” where the oil stores is made of plastic & that causes some issues. 1. You have to wait for the oil to be cooled off because filtering, otherwise you’d melt the plastic container (use cools in 45min). 2. THE LID DOES POP OFF WHEN TRYING TO FILL THE FRYER. My work around was to add 2 pieces of duct tape to the lid & that stopped the issue. I wish it was made of metal. Would be a huge improvement, you’d be able to drain the hot oil right away & I believe the lid could be better if it was all metal. It’s basically impossible to clean the plastic oil bin to a level where it doesn’t always feel oily. Plastic & oil don’t work together well. I believe the plastic may get micro fractures over time or something because after a few months of use I have noticed small dabs of oil on the counter when using the fryer. The fryer is still great but the oil storage part of the unit could be improved & would really make this thing the best. If you like to deep fryer like I do, worth considering this product until someone creates a filtering fryer with a better oil storage unit.

Love it besides it's flaws
I've had this fryer for over a year and I love it. I've made a lot of fresh cut French fries and fried chicken (hot wings) through the last 30 years and this is the best fryer I've ever had and I've had a lot of different ones. When this one goes out I'll buy another one if they're still available. There are 3 issues that I think are flaws, the first is that it only has 1 light and it lights up when it's switched on and then goes out once it gets to temp. It should have 2 lights, red to indicate that its on and a green light to indicate when it's up to the set temp. Someone can cut it off and then forget they cut it off and hit the switch again cutting it back on. I actually did this once and didn't realize it until the next day and of course the oil was totally burnt. I unplug it now when I'm not using it. The switch is in an odd place on the side and should be on the top. They need to either have the switch on top so it's easily visible or have the 2 lights or have both. The last issue is the filter, it doesn't really have one which is great for cleaning purposes but all that oily steam comes out all over whatever is above it which for me is a cabinet. I was shocked at this when I first used it, I was kinda dumbfounded. Why would they not put a filter on it? I have a lot of replacement filters from other fryers I've had so what I do is lay a filters on top of the opening and lay a wet paper towel over top of that and it cuts down the oily steam tremendously. That catches a lot of what would be coating my cabinet. These are some pretty major issues to me but besides that it fries good and is a lot easier to clean and store oil than my past fryers. I read where people were saying it leaks oil when filtering so I place a metal tray under it to catch any spilled oil and I luckily haven't had that issue unless it's tilted and the oil container overflows. I have no issues with spillage otherwise. It's a great fryer and I guess I could leave 4 stars because of the flaws I've mentioned but... It's the best fryer I've ever had so I wouldn't feel right about doing that. Maybe they will see this review and address these issues, that would be great.

Professional quality at a consumer price
I was in search of a new deep fryer to replace the my previous one. I was looking for something that professionals would use but at a "consumer" price. I have to say as soon as I saw this product and read the reviews, I had to try it out for myself. I have to say that this is simply the best deep fryer that I truly have ever owned. If I can rate this a 10 star review I would. Positives,. 1. Quality. A. When I first opened the box and took the unit out, I can tell that it was made very well. The stainless steal, cover, basket, oil tray, etc.... was all made to last. 2. Oil tray. This one added feature has already saved me money in reusing my oil. In my previous fryer, I would simply discard the oil after using it for only one time. Not only does this feature save you money, but is washable. You simply flip the switch on the front to the appropriate setting and the oil drains out. The secret is inside the machine. There is a screen that catches all the food particles before it hits the tray. This way you are getting screened oil to use again. I only recommend using the oil 1 or 2 more times depending upon how much you are frying. This is feature has to be one of my favorites. Thank you T Fal 3. Does it fry? Have to say the size is perfect. Just enough to put a decent amount of food in, but not too big. Not only does it heat the oil rather quickly, but does a fantastic job at frying. There is even a small lip inside the fryer to rest the basket on to rest so the excess oil can drip. 4. What about cleaning. Everything outside the power cord and the heating unit is dishwasher safe. Makes clean up so easy. Simply use the oil filter, place the oil back into the container where you got it from. Once you stored the recycled oil, take all the parts of the machine put it in the dishwasher and you are all clean. No mess, no fuss, nada. Are there any negatives? 1. honestly this isnt a negative, but something to just point out. There is a glass on the cover where you can "see inside" the fryer as its frying. Please realize you are frying, which causes steam. The steam will "condense" on the glass so its hard to see inside. How to solve that. Very easy, lift up the cover, lol. Again this is not a negative at all to me, it does work. But please be realistic in whats going on in the machine. 2. Again not a negative, but it is big. So you need to have storage space. This is not an issue for the most, unless you have a very small kitchen. Would I buy this product again? Absolutely! Would I recommend it to my family and friends. Not only would I recommend it, but would buy it for them if I had the money lol. (plus deep fryers dont make great gifts lol). This is simply the best deep fryer out there that a professional kitchen would use. Everything from top to bottom is simply fantastic. It truly is a professional chef quality item. T-Fal, you now have a customer for life. I would like to thank you for making such a high end product that often companies don't hear positives from its customers. So if anyone from this company is reading my review, Thank You! This is a well made product that was built to last. Job well done T-Fal, WELL DONE

The fryer to get!
This is my first fryer, and I am really glad I chose this one. I've used others at my family's house, and the main issues are, of course, how many times can you re-use the same oil in the fryer, and when you have to dump it out and clean the cumbersome oily thing. This leads to not really using the thing... With this fryer, those issues are a thing of the past! The oil filtration system seems to work very well. I've only had this a short while and only cooked a couple batches in it so far, but I'll share my experiences. First thing you do when you get it out of the box is disassemble the parts (oil-saving box with lid, main oil bowl, basket, and lid) and put them in the dishwasher. You just can't wash the control unit (part with the dial and the heating rods) in the dishwasher, but that is a small part really and easy to sponge off. I can get everything into the dishwasher except for the main housing - which is safe to put in the washer, but just won't fit vertically in my machine, so I sponge that too which isn't a problem since it's the outer-most part of the machine and doesn't come into contact with the oil. I realized right away that this was going to be a whole lot easier than my family's old machine. The manual recommends vegetable oil - I went with peanut oil. After frying some hot dogs (you gotta try it - roll in a hot pan after frying to dry/blister them) and some breaded cheese-stuffed jalapenos as a test run, I turned the heat off and switched it to oil filtration mode. The machine knows the oil's temperature, and will automatically begin filtering into the oil box on the bottom once the oil is at a safe temp (took ~2 hours for it to start - manual says ~3 hours.) When it was done, I pulled the oil box out to look at it and was amazed (the box holds the oil pretty well... there is a plug on the back end that you can unplug to pour the oil out, but the front hole the machine filters the oil down into stays open, so it will spill just a little if you shake it around too much - I lost a couple drops, no real problem, just a note. If you leave it in the machine and keep it upright, you will have no leaks/problems.) - the oil looked as good as new! But that was an easy test for it... My next run (re-using the filtered oil) was double-dredged (flour/egg/panko) oysters. They were awesome in a po'boy, by the way! After filtering the oil this time, it is clean in the box, but very slightly darker and does of course now have that seafood smell. I would use it again, for more seafood, but would want to change to fresh oil if I went back to chicken or something else. They recommend changing your oil after around 8-12 uses, so I don't want to throw this oil out yet. It is pretty easy to poor the filtered oil into some other container marked "seafood", but it would be nice if I could find a spare oil box of the same type so that I could have one for seafood, and one for other foods, and just re-use the appropriate oil box. I looked at T-Fal's site, but can't find an exact match - they do have spare boxes for a different model though (unsure if it would fit this model) so I am holding out hope. I'll ask them and see what I can find... It would just add another layer of ease to the process. In summary, this fryer takes most of the hard parts of frying and throws them out with the wash. It is easy to use, and makes it a pleasure instead of a nightmare to fry quick side dishes with a meal, for example. I am very happy with this purchase.

super achat

Altamente recomendable.

Automatic oil filtration
Rated #1 on the market & lives up to its designation. Heats up fast, fries as advertised. But the best part is that it will self filtrate the oil with the flip of a switch. No more fumbling with a sieve to clean your oil for your next frying
