Q: what kind of paper is it? is it shiny or is it matte ?

It is regular thin paper index card style paper. I guess it is no different than the regular white index cards. These cards are very very small and bend very easily. I should have sent them back when I had the chance but couldn't be bothered. If you get these makes sure you buy some kind of holder for them bc the one they come in will break as soon as you get it open.

Q: Are these cards good for making flipbooks? As in the animation kind?

Yes! They would be great for that. The paper isn’t as thick as index cards - it’s closer to the thickness of notebook paper, however.

Q: If you write on one side with sharpie, does it show through on the other side like regular index cards do?

The sharpie isn't as visible as it is with regular index cards.

Q: What does the picture of the no permanent marker mean?

If you use a permanent marker it will bleed through the card and you'll be able to see it on the other side.
