Complete Book of Guitar Chords, Scales and Arpeggios

Most complete guitar reference book I’ve found
This is my new bible. As a beginner looking to expand my skill and knowledge, this book seemed to be too much information at first. Now it has become a very useful resource and has a place on my music stand. The scales and arpeggios are super helpful and are often my warm up routine. The chord section has helped me “see” the puzzle of the fretboard in a new way that has never made complete sense before. Highly recommend.

Great reference and practice material.
Well laid out . Great for practice and songwriting reference. All scales, chords, arpeggios in an easy to find format . Not an instruction manual. But more of a reference to help enhance your playing.

Great For Review & Learning
I've studied guitar privately, but stopped playing for several years. I forgot many chords I knew, all of the scales I knew, and I never even learned the arpeggios which are included in this book. This book is a great review. It will also be a good learning experience. I never learned my major scales in multiple positions -- this book contains several positions for each scale. The scales and chords are presented in a graphic manner, which does not require that the reader be able to read music. Below the graphic representation of each scale, the names of the notes are shown above the accompanying note on a treble staff. Below the treble staff, each note is also shown in tablature. (Since I have been trying to learn some music which is notated in tablature, I was excited about that!) Also, the names of the notes in each chord are listed below the graphic representation of the chord. I love this book! A complete beginner may need to purchase additional books, but this book is great for reference. I will probably use it as a reference for the rest of my life.

Very helpful
I own most of the Guitar Grimoire books, but this one book covers a lot in a very practical way. The Grimoire's tend to be useful as a reference, but this Mel Bay book provides practical exercises that have really been improving my playing. I'm a beginner/intermediate player and appreciate that the book includes notation as well as tabs. This book has been a great companion so far. Highly recommended.

Awesome book
If you can understand tablature you can learn everything in this book. It's perfect for beginners. Just take a peak and you'll want to see it all.

A Guitar Player's Bible
I purchased for my incarcerated son. He received this today and was so very excited. His words were "It is like a guitar player's bible, it freaking rocks!" He also mentioned it isn't necessarily for a beginner. He knows the very basics; he said, it is perfect for where he is skill wise. He also said he had to ask someone else how to read/understand it (my son is a kid with a very high IQ), I guess it could be a bit confusing to figure out "but once I did, OMG Mom, it freaking rocks!". He has a lot of the guys there who is already wanting to "share" it with him. LOL

Love these books
I love these books because they teach you different positions for the same chord. By learning different positions, it may be easier to use the different chords while playing a song because the different chord may fit easier with the switch and flow of the song. You can teach yourself new chords which makes you a better musician.

Not what I expected
Organized more like a piano keyboard. For example, the chord section starts with "C" and ends with "B". Not sure a beginner (the one who needs to look up the chords) would know that a C# is also a Db. There is no double label although the scale and arpeggios sections do have a double label. I've found it easier to find the chord name in the Chord Contents section in the front of the book, get the page number and then go there. Not a very efficient system.
