Quality
Good quality, does exactly what i bought it for. Was looking for a helmet that i could stick weld and grind with. Works perfect, good quality, great value.

USA
made in USA and the hinges seems durable enough a very nice helmet if you don't wanna be bothered with batteries going dead in a auto darkening style this is the helmet for you

I've had the same hood since the 90s
I've had the same hood since the 90ds. It's been all over America with me. I'm a Union Ironworker it gets used hard. I have it on hardhat head gear. The second one I just bought is for my gradge and personal projects. I got a good auto lense so I can Tig . It doesn't need a grinding shade flip up the welding lenses lol! . This one isn't made from the same materials as my 20yo one so I can't say if it will hold up as well. Don't waste your money on a cheap piece of junk. Buy quality. Why don't you see tons of reviews for name brand hoods and lenses? Because the reviews were done 30 years ago and they still work well.

Not the best but will work
Initial quality -The headgear seems to be cracked upon arrival, it pops back in place but will pop back out once you put it on and ratchet the headgear down. Not sure how much it will affect the longevity but I’m kinda wishing I got an elastic band instead of the ratchet style. Hood isn’t too large or bulky at a glance, but I’m sure I’ll end up trimming the throat and maybe the top down for size and weight reduction. The flip front is a plus, I bought the hood planning on replacing the fixed shade lens right off the bat with an auto lens. Lens size is fairly common which is a plus. Will have to test it out to see how it fares compared to the Lincoln I’ve been using.

My favorite hood—definitely better for welder fabricators than just welders.
Big and heavy and “dumb”, but will last for years. The flip-up lens is beyond useful for grinding, cutting etc so that a grinding shield isn’t really needed. That said, someone who TIG welds pipe or works in confined spaces all day might have little use for this hood. Have to use the right tool for the job!

So far so good
I bought this to replace my miller elite (working at a shop) I will say it’s a little heavier then expected.. but lenses are cheap to replace. And the flip up is way faster to go back in forth between welding and grinding.
