Not Perfect But I Love It Anyway
Someone wrote previously on another site that they wanted to love it but hated it and I took that one step further; I wanted to love it but hated it, now love it.This bag is very comfortable....after you get used to it. It felt awkward to me for the first few weeks, now after several months, it feels totally natural even when loaded. Other sling packs, like the ones from Under Armor and Adidas are nicely made and well laid out but to me, they feel flimsy and the straps are just way too short. They fit snugly over a t-shirt and no way would they fit me in a jacket. I am a big guy though and wear XXXL jackets and shirts. This strap is very long, wide and comfortable so it's easy to lift it on or off over your head in one fluid motion. The material is also tough, very tough and you can toss it around without worrying about tearing or even scuffing it and the zippers are solid too.It could definitely use better pocket organization and should probably be updated with a few more internal and external zippered pockets including an organizer of some sort but after a while, you find a place for everything you need, even if you change your everyday load. On weekends, I empty it and load it for the beach, the iPad goes in the concealed carry pocket, suntan lotion goes in the right side pocket, frozen bottled water goes in the bottle pouch, towel, snacks etc goes inside and I'm done.I could add pouches obviously to improve organization but this thing is sleek and lays close to my back and I don't want to bulk it up, not to mention most of the pouches cost half to two-thirds as much as sling packs from other manufacturers. When they do finally update this with better organization, I'll be buying that one too.

Good bug out bag
I was looking for the perfect bug out bag. Tough, usable, can withstand rain/snow, not giant or bulky, but not so small that I can't pack what I want.Usability is awesome! When you sling it around to the front everything is right there to grab. It's made for right-handers, but as a lefty I think it's probably better since it sort of slings from the left. The concealed carry option is great and I plan on buying the universal holster to go inside as well as the 3 magazine holder. For a bug out bag, and a daily bag, having built in concealed carry functionality is ideal. It's really the purpose of this bag. My only complaint is that the section meant for ccw is only accessible by your right hand reaching behind you and into the bag. I can deal with it since I shoot with both hands, but if you are a die hard lefty, well, still get this bag because you can't find anything that comes close to it for lefties. All the little areas to store stuff are great as well, and the straps allow you to tighten down small loads so they won't shake when running, or expand and contain when overstuffed. Additional little straps are everywhere for adding modular storage.I watched a few videos on Youtube before I bought it, and it was exactly what I was looking for. There was a lot of design and thought put into the hard use of this bag and it shows.********************************UPDATE******************************:Used this bag to travel recently, and it went through the Denver International airport with flying colors. I packed it for a 2 1/2 day trip, and I even had room left over for stuff my wife and daughter couldn't fit into their bags. I pack light. The slinging function was very useful for pulling out ID, money, boarding passes, etc, etc, quickly. As opposed to a backpack that needs to be taken off whenever you want to do anything. It also allows you to sit down with it slung to the side, or on your lap, without having to take it off.It withstood scanning belts, security checks, being thrown in cars, shuttles, overhead compartments, being sat on, stepped on, and spilled on. It resists all attempts to destroy it! I will use this every time I travel from now on.I got it in black, and I think that was a wise choice. Camo versions would stick out like crazy, which if that's what you want then you go for it, but if you like to blend in with crowd get the black. Looking like a homegrown insurgent will earn you the "enhanced search" at the airport.

Great bag but wrong shoulder.
I had been waffling over purchasing this bag for about a year. The cost is a bit high. I was looking for a bag for my GoPros and accessories that I could quickly grab and head out with. This bag really fits the bill well. It's well made and as durable as my other Maxpedition gear (two bags, and a handful of pouches). It's well suited for quickly grabbing and heading out the door. We went to San Francisco and Hawaii for a vacation and this bag was really perfect for that trip. The only downside is that no one carries the "reverse" bag that goes on your left shoulder any longer. While it frees up your range of movement with your right hand/arm, it also puts the weight on your right shoulder. Having it on my left would have been better for me, but it's not a deal breaker. The design requires a little adjustment in how you pack your bag. Most backpacks are filled from the bottom up. This sling bag is best loaded from a bottom corner and up towards the side that is on the top when you bring the bag around to the front of your body. It's also not a really good idea to attach any weight to the front flap as it causes it to sag and make those things behind it more visible (not to mention the added stress on the top buckle). The front flap is great for stuffing a jacket or rain poncho and the pockets are great for things you need to access frequently. They should have put zippers on the pouches though instead of a single velcro strap. The pouches at the bottom of the strap (next to your hip) don't hold much but are a great place for your keys. Too small for a cell phone. The side pocket opposite the water bottle holder are GREAT for holding my camera poles. The handle on top of the bag is functional but I wouldn't try walking around with this carrying it by the handle. It's just a good grab handle to pick the bag up or get it out of the trunk/backseat.It's a little too bulky to use as a carry-on bag under the seat in front of you, but is fine for overhead storage. It's a shame that Maxpedition is discontinuing this bag (and all of the older types) in favor of their new designs. Either way, the Amazon price was substantially lower than the Maxpedition price ($119 vs. $172) which is frequently the case.Overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to a friend as long as they understood what they were getting. A lot of people that negatively reviewed this bag seem to have fallen in love with the picture but never really thought about how they were going to use it in any detail before plunking down a lot of money.

High grade
Very impressed by the quality of the materials and build of the bag. Will last a long time and with molle to add future attachments; medpack and multi purpose pouch on the weight retention strap.

I was surprised
Came in a tiny cardboard box and I immediately thought I bought junk. I DIDNT! It is a very well made and comfortable pack. I use it every day and there's many thoughtful well designed compartments. Would buy again
