The Hot Spot Experience film noir like never before when a lowlife drifter (Don Johnson), who sells used cars in a Texas burg, robs the local bank and gets involved with two sultry women: one bad, one innocent. Based on Charles Williams 1952 novel Hell Hath No Fury and directed by Dennis Hopper, this steamy noir also stars Barry Corbin, Charles Martin Smith, Jack Nance, Jennifer Connelly, Jerry Hardin, Leon Rippy, Virginia Madsen and William Sadler.Killing Me Softly From the very moment that Alice (Heather Graham) locks eyes with Adam (Joseph Fiennes), a mysterious stranger, she is catapulted into a whirlwind of intense erotic desire and adventure, risking everything just to be with him. But when secrets from Adams past begin to surface, Alice finds herself in a bizarre and potentially lethal situation she cant escape. Acclaimed director Kaige Chen directs this contemporary suspense thriller, now on blu-ray for the first time UNRATED and UNCUT.

The Hot Spot is Steamy & Funny.
Killing Me Softly is a terrible movie and I couldn't even get through the whole thing, but The Hot Spot is really cool. Don Johnson plays his part to the hilt and Jennifer Connelly is really nice eye candy. Virginia Madsen should have received an Oscar for her portrayal of her character. She is very dangerous and very entertaining in a black comedy sort of way. I already owned The Hot Spot on DVD but I wanted it on Bluray. I didn't have to pay much for this bluray so I think it was well worth the price I paid. One more thing, if you like Blues, you will love the Soundtrack in The Hot Spot. The movie is also very steamy with lots of comedic lines, although it is mostly a drama.

Bought it for The Hot Spot
The Hot Spot was one of my favorite books. The movie was made faithfully to the book, updated from the 1950s setting of the book, but still very faithful. The cast is great, particularly Don Johnson and Virginia Madsen. Having a second movie that features Heather Graham is a great bonus!

Review is for "The Hot Spot"
"The Hot Spot" is a very sturdy, entertaining neo-noir film that's a perfect, delicious, modern B-movie. I bought this two-disc Blu-Ray set because it was cheaper than buying the DVD format version of just "The Hot Spot".I didn't want the other movie, titled "Killing Me Softly", because I had seen it before, and it is awful. Really, truly awful. It's dreck. Two fine actors trapped in movie hell - nothing works in this film. Not the script, not the editing, not the acting, not the directing - nothing. Run, don't walk away from this movie if you ever see it listed on a cable channel or on Netflix. I've already thrown the disc away.

A guilty pleasure, watching Don and Virginia match wits and bodies in this heated neo-noir.
Neo-noir in the U-Turn vein has Don Johnson drifting into town as Harry Madox where he sets his sights his boss's wife and the youngster in the finance dept. all while trying to rob the local Podunk bank. Virginia Madson plays it over the top as the femme fatal and a young, healthy looking, Jennifer Connelly glows as his virginal object of affection. The BD won't win any quality contests unfortunately, but it's great to have it on this medium.

Decent quality prints, but no subtitles
The Hot Spot (1990) is an entertaining and interesting movie directed by Dennis Hopper and populated with good actors and possessing a clever script. All the characters seem to get what they deserve. Very good film.Killing Me Softly (2002) was a few rungs down the ladder but was an interesting movie to watch once. Mediocre film.It was annoying neither film, on a Blu-Ray disc no less, had subtitles. The quality of the print and the audio in both was quite good.

Best available
Great movie. Okay transfer. This looks like one of those automated transfers, quality could be better. However you won't find a higher quality version of The Hot Spot anywhere. The music is outstanding as is the movie.

Obscure but great movies
These titles were not mainstream Hollywood type movies but enjoyable nonetheless. Great addition to my collection

Two great prints
Two entertaining films presented in two very good prints. The colours and sharpness were up to Shots usual standardAs always the discs are region locked so you need an American player or a multi region blu ray (multi region on DVD only wont do)No extras. No menus. Two films at a good price.
