This audio CD is AWESOME! I purchased it before my first trip to Poland. I had absolutely no background in Polish. 'Couldn't find any classes to take. I purchased this series at the suggestion of a friend. Wow! I couldn't believe how easy it made the language.The phrases are those that would be used in casual conversation... which is exactly what I needed. The people I met were convinced that I really knew the language! When they started rattling off things I didn't understand, I was able to express my limitations w/ the language.I enjoyed Pimsleur for Spanish but Pimsleur for Polish is excellent!

Pretty awesome. My husband was able to learn the basics in a week or so before his trip to poland. Got really difficult for him at lesson 5 or 6. Otherwise they do a good job using repetition and building on previous lessons. Made rush hour traffic go by quickly for him.

This is the most incredible way to learn a foreign language! I have tried books, tapes and classes. With Pimsleur, after a week I can finally have an introductory conversation with the right pronunciation. And because of the unique system of repetition used on the CDs, I'm speaking quickly and retaining the vocabulary. The speakers have professionally trained voices and are a pleasure to listen to. I'm ready to buy the complete set of Pimsleur Polish Lessons on CD.

I'm writing this as an elderly person who knows 0 Polish. Am planning a trip to Poland and thought this would be helpful, but with absolutely no text and no pronunciation sheet, it was impossible for me (and my husband) to memorize even one single word; I needed to see it. For a language as foreign as Polish, I just couldn't follow the words and expressions. I tried a Pimsleur Italian course a few years ago and that was excellent and easy to follow and I learned enough to get by relatively well in Italy. Polish is very, very different from a Romantic language. I realize that we learn to speak as small children simply by hearing and repeating our parents' words, but I'm not a small child. I need to see things in print. Thus I cannot recommend this Pimsleur Polish Course at least for many older people.

Makes you think fast to answer the questions which is good! I have this and Rosetta Stone and I think I like this more because you are forced to produce words quickly which I think is key to learning any language.

These cds are great really easy way to learn polish.

Pimsleur is a great system to learn Polish! Just don't waste your money buying the "Quick and Simple," which has 8 lessons. Just buy Pimsleur's Polish Basics, which has 10 lessons. The lessons are identical on both audio tapes. Save your money and just buy Polish Basics and also get nice CD storage case.

Doe's exactly what it says. Teaches the basics very well.
