Excellent
Great little mics for your typical small-diaphragm condenser applications. Low noise, seem rugged. Frequency response is pretty neutral, and low rolloff, like the pad, is a nice feature found on most mics like this (for applications like drum overheads, etc.). Comparable to some more expensive one I own. Work great on acoustic guitar, cymbals, percussion, foley and sound effect replacement as well. Have used them as distant room mics too to add some space to drum kits, and for group vocal stereo micing. My two gripes, and they’re not about the mics themselves, are that they didn’t come with a stereo bar or a case of any kind. I ended up buying multiple stereo bars before finding the right size (if you’re going to buy a stereo bar, make sure it’s adjustable so you can place them close enough to each other depending on how you are using them).Definitely would by again.

Awesome drum overheads and acoustic guitar microphones
I had never heard of sE electronics but Im glad I bought these. The build quality is great and they sound awesome for the price. The self noise is pretty low for small diaphragm condensers. Work well as both drum overheads and acoustic guitar mics. Im sure you could use these on just about anything and get great sounds. Highly recommended!

Beats top brands at a fraction of the price
These mics are amazing for their price. I've worked in the AV industry for 17 years and used the entire array of mics. Yes, there are some that are better than these, but they cost a small fortune. These mics are quiet, yet sensitive, small and well made, the clips appear to be rugged, the windscreens are nicely made, the cables included in the kit are also nice and well built. Will buy another couple kits soon. One complain - not enough to ditch a star: initial order delivered with only one kit; amazon refunded the cost of one kit so I can purchase again.

Very pleasing sound as overheads
Bought these to replace a pair of akg c1000s as drum overheads. (The akgs are not terrible, and don't deserve the hate they get, just thought I'd try these as an experiment.) They do sound different than the akgs, it's hard to describe, but my drummer and I agree they sound like "silver." In a wonderful way. Cymbals especially sound beautiful. I love my overhead sound now. I think they're very special mics, regardless of price, and will develop a great reputation over time. Btw put your c1000s on a distorted guitar amp. It's magic on a recording.

Excellent build and sound
I have other similar small diaphragm mics, but these have less self noise, and a better frequency response. They are sensitive enough, and are ruggedly built. The included clips and pop screens and foam wind muffs are all well made, and contribute to the overall good value these represent. Having the spl pad and high pass switches is very handy, sometimes indispensable. Great sound, great value.

Great, just a little bright
Great value for the money. I recommend them. However, they’re just a little too bright for my taste. Pretty easy to fix with some eq. I tried them on an acoustic guitar and it was bright compared to the other mics I had.

2 for 1!
These things are great. They record the sound of anything that makes sound! Yay microphones!
