I bought these struts to replace tue 120 lb set on the RV type bed frame my houseboat. I added a mattress topper and the 120's wouldn't quite hold up the bed. Some reviews suggested that the rods on these struts were too small in diameter, therefore were cheaply made and bend easily. I don't know what those folks purchased, but these 20" 150 lb. struts appear well made, and the diameter of the rods is identical to the original 120 lb. struts that I took off. These are 10mm ball ends, and do come with threaded studs, nuts and washers. If you need brackets instead, you need to order those separately. I've only just installed these, so I can't review the longevity. But at this point, I can say that you can't go wrong with these for the price.

The piston located on the bottom side of my travel trailer door had gone bad and the door would not stay open. Even the lightest breeze would cause the door to close. I removed the old piston and noted that there were various numbers printed on the side of it. I got on Amazon and started searching and found the piston with the same numbers as what I had, and in the same size as my old one. The new item arrived a day later, and it was super easy to install and now it firmly holds the door open. I got the 15 lbs holding power version and it is perfect for the door.

Worked great to replace the pistons for my 2014 Tacoma tunnaue cover. Came with replacment balls and nuts but fit out of the box. came packaged with nylon straps instead of plastic ones which held the pistons closed better durring shipping. Very firm and seem to be about the same as the ones i'd replaced.

So far so good - installed easily on my RV compartment storage door, replacing the weak prop strut. Has plenty of holding power to keep the door up and open! Finally said good-bye and good riddance to the custom 1 x 3 board I used to keep the door from coming down on my head when accessing the compartment. Will see how it stands the test of time.

Warning - do not lift your 100-lb RV lift bed without the mattress on it because you may not be able to close it again. Ask me how I know. These are really great struts - they have one thing I have never seen before: small red clips at the ends that you just push to release the struts from the mounts. Allows you to adjust the location of the mounts if you need to change that. Note also that these do not come with the mounts; it is expected that these are replacements (I needed double the power) so you re-use the mounts you already have.

**Edit** The seller reached out to me after this review. I provided them pictures of what I was trying to replace. They responded by providing a product link to the correct ends I was needing. Fortunately, these ends screw on or off so all I had to do was remove the less than satisfactory ones and install the smaller, metal ones with actual retaining clips. I wish the proper struts with correct ends had shown up in my initial search result instead of having to make two separate purchases to make one product work, but that's more an issue with Amazon than the seller or product. Now that the correct ends are installed, the struts are working as intended and not slipping off the socket every time the doors are opened. I'm giving this review another star just for the customer service they provided me. --- I'm less than pleased with these struts. The clips are weak and pop out of place way too easily. The ends are made of plastic and screw into place. They're also much larger than those they're replacing which means they rub when opening or closing the door. In all, I'd recommend buying another brand which has smaller metal ends with adequate clips that won't pop free every time you open or close the door.

Given the force these struts produce, I assumed they would come with the 13mm ball end fittings, but no. They are fitted with 10mm ball ends, so I had to order the 13mm ball (8mm thread) fittings separately. The one I have in use seems to work ok but time will tell how they hold up on a snowmobile trailer clamshell cover that gets a ton of salt spray in the winter.

Good replacement for my covered snowmobile trailer cover. They were a little longer than the original which required me to modify the mounts and also reuse the end pieces (through bolt type instead of ball end). Time will tell how long they last and will update if needed.

Needed for a hot tub cover we found them all made easy to fit, well worth the money and would recommend.
