The Lockheed Plant (Images of America)

Like most of the Images of America books I have purchased, this one covers a specific item of history, in this case the Lockheed plant located in Marietta, Georgia. Many people wouldn't know that the plant was built originally to build the B-29 Superfortress bomber and some of the locals still refer to it as the "Bell Bomber Plant". There is a companion book also by the same publisher that covers the history of the plant when it was building the B-29. I recommend both books.

Very good book. Really enjoyable to keep learning history about how the aircraft are built especially since I was stationed with a lot of them while on active duty

This book was purchased for my dad for Christmas. He is retired from Lockheed and this was a great surprise for him. The pictures detail the evolution of the plant and it is very interesting to just sit and thumb through the photos and history found inside.

Now in hardcover!

I like the book; it brings back some memories of the good old days. Truly remarkable what they built then and what they build today.
