We used this as a portiere to close off my wife's office instead of framing out a decorative arch and so far it's working great. It deafens the room about as much as the door would have, was way cheaper, and didn't require us to frame out the archway. Excellent purchase.

These create a bit of a noise barrier in my open stairwell. I wasn't expecting complete silence, that's silly. It does break up the noise a bit, which is what I was after. Pretty expensive, but they are thick and heavy, so I can see the value.

I purchased the curtain to be used instead of a door to my freezing basement. The curtain is very well made of high quality material, Blocks out light, some noise and does exactly what I need it to do...keeps the heat from escaping from my basement. Another plus was... my MOTHER-IN-LAW saw it and was impressed with my purchase!!!!! I would give it 10 Stars if possible, after being complimented by my MIL.

Turns a scream into a muffled moan. Blocks light and prying eyes. Almost as effective as closing the door. But not really. A door would be much better. You can lock a door. But not a curtain. They look good though makes a dank dark smelly basement seem a lot more homey.

The description claims an average 9db noise reduction. I installed this as a room divider, exactly as it claims in its purpose, to reduce noise. I barely noticed any reduction in noise. In fact, I do have a soundmeter and could measure that the reduction in noise levels after installing the curtain is just around 1db, nowhere close to the claimed 'average 9dbs'.

This didn't work for us. We have an upstairs neighbor with a TV that resonates downstairs and spreads to another room and hall. Hanging the inside the hall entrance did not really block the sound from upstairs down into the room and out to the adjoining hall.

You get what you pay for. They’re pricey and they are great.
