Engaging and informative.
My son, who is now 10, still loves this book. We first ordered it when he was 3 to help teach him the importance of brushing and I never expected it to become one of his favorite childhood books. Thanks for creating such an educational and fun book.

Great, detailed, kid-friendly story about dental health and hygiene!
My 3 year old needed a cavity filled and a cleaning and our dentist read us the riot act for not being on top of teaching him about dental health. We had always dutifully brushed teeth and avoided sugar but my son didn't comprehend WHY and he didn't make the connection. I bought a ton of books on Amazon for kids about going to the dentist to get him prepared for his appointment. Elmo goes to the dentist, Little Critters, etc. This book (I think it's written by a dentist?) is by far the best one, it actually explains how sugars affect the teeth and the importance of eating proper foods, brushing, flossing and keeping up with dental health. Now my son loves to talk about "beating Sugarbug Doug" when he's brushing his teeth and it helped us make the connection between "No you can't have a cookie it's not good for you or your teeth" and the risk of cavities. Great book.

Perfect
I first came across this book in my daughter's dentist office. It was so adorable. She was moved by the story and the illustration. She was absolutely disgusted by the thought of Sugar Bug Doug peeing acid on in her mouth. She is an avid brusher. We found it when she was maybe one and a half or two and now she is five and loves brushing away those sugar bugs. She has never had a cavity. I'm happy that it encouraged her to brush and stay in that habit. Now I, don't have to do all the work or convince her to do anything. I had her in the dental chair at 6 months I think. Dentist and brushing are kinda fun.Highly recommend this book.

Great way to get kiddos to brush!
Our wonderful dentist Dr. Seth recommended this book. Sweet, fun read and definitely helped us encourage our 4yo to brush…”gotta get the sugar bug dougs!!”

great informative book for young readers and parents!
This is a great book to teach young children, mainly toddlers, of how and why we brush our teeth. As a registered dental hygienist and a mother of a toddler boy I found this book a great learning tool. It discusses what 'sugarbugs' are and how to get rid of them, what types of food are 'good' foods and what is considered 'bad' foods. Ultimately it encourages young readers to take better care of their teeth & I am all about that! The reading level is perfect for the 1-5 year range, it is not a rhyming book though. I strongly recommend this to help parents and children understand the importance of keeping teeth clean!

Good
More complex than I thought it would be so our toddler lost interest quickly. Good for older children.

Would highly recommend
Bought for my three year old neice and seven year old nephew who both weren't thrilled about brushing their teeth. This book was an unexpected hit with the three year old. Very age appropriate logic behind why we brush our teeth and how "sugar bugs" (plaque) can damage our teeth. Would highly recommend

Great book
A really cute book that explains to kids what happens when you eat sugar and other unhealthy foods and how they can keep their teeth healthy. My kids enjoyed it and were more careful in how they brush their teeth.
