I am an avid gardener and I love this product. It definitely keeps the weeds down. Make sure you read the label as to what vegetables it can be used on. It stops weed seed germination however there are some vegetables it will affect also. It is easy to use, just sprinkle on desired area.

I have used Preen for years. I had to learn to not be super frugal with it but I learned to put a decent amount when trying to keep weeds out of landscape stones.

I use this in my flower beds in spring and never fails to keep the weeds to a minimum. awesome product and fully recommend.

Preen has always worked well for me in my mulch to keep weeds from sprouting. Only issue was delivery, tub arrived broken and about 1/4 leaked out all over the box.

Everyone has their "thing" that drives them nuts. Mine is weeds. I'm forever scanning my gardens, pea rock fire pit area, driveway cracks, and rock areas for weeds. Preen is reliably great at preventing weeds, and lasts for months--which is all I need for my very short Minnesota non-snow seasons. You do have to do weeding first, as it only prevents weeds, does not kill weeds; but after that first weeding I've not had to pull but for very few since. I obviously can't use it where I want any plant life such as grass or flowers, but in areas where no plants are wanted such as the rock areas and driveway cracks, this eliminates my need to waste time weeding these areas.

Frequency and Longevity I’ve used this on three different rock‑covered lawns over the past three years. Pros Application – I use a hand‑crank seed spreader and it’s very easy to distribute. It takes me about ¾ of a bag to cover the front yards. Safety & Pet‑Friendly – No issues so far. Pets have been around it with zero problems. Effectiveness – Excellent. This cuts back at least 65% to 85% of the weeds that used to grow through the rock. I can usually get 80% of the season without reapplying. In dry years, I only need one application for the entire spring and summer. Tip – I like to wait until there’s about a 60% chance of rain, then apply the day before. The rain activates it so you don’t have to water manually. Cons You’ll still get a few weeds, but I spot‑treat those with a mix of cleaning vinegar and salt, which knocks them down fast. Other than that, no real cons — this works far better than traditional weed killers and lasts longer. Would I Buy Again? Yes, without hesitation.
