The Treatment of Horses by Homoeopathy

This has been an extraordinarily helpful book to me over the 25 years I've had it. It has certainly saved many thousands of dollars in veterinary costs in that time and I can think of one occasion where it may well have saved a horses life that had started bleeding profusely a couple days post castration. While we awaited the arrival of the vet I looked up bleeding, and we happened to have the remedy (the book won't do you a lot of good in an emergency unless you have a reasonably comprehensive kit on hand). By the time our vet arrived the bleeding was vastly diminished and the horse went on to be just fine. Among the many situations this book has been helpful in, one of the most outstanding uses has been Macleod's remedy protocol for navicular syndrome. I've used it along w/ natural hoofcare and lifestyle, and good bodywork, etc. to treat some older lesson horses that had been given to us as "lost causes", and are now vastly sounder, happier, and healthier in their 20s and late teens than they were 2 to 8 years ago.when they arrived. This isn't my only homeopathic resource, but it is an old favorite. And homeopathy isn't the only holistic modality I use for the horses, but it also is an old fave. I recently purchased it on Kindle, so now if I've got my phone, I've got the book :).

This is the edition revised and published in 2005. So it does not have info on treating any of the diseases in the last 12 years. It also does not have cribbing info. But it is a very useful book to have in the First Aid kit considering it covers a LOT. I found it easy to use treatment instructions but not so easy to understand. I have homeopathic experience, so remedy info was easy.But he does use a LOT of veterinary & British terms that I don't understand (like anterior mesenteric artery , erthyamatous, profuse staling, purulent bursitis and many more...). There is no index. There is a thorough table of contents.

My first Treatment of Horses came out in 1991. Well, over time it got dog eared, pages torn, coffee stains, etc. So, I decided to get the new and improved version..just because. After I received it, I was very disappointed to learn that it had NO INDEX!!! Good grief!! Especially in an emergency, who has the time (or desire) to thumb through the entire book?? NOT me. So, since I also have a lot of notes written in my old one, and the new one has new diseases, injuries etc that the old one didn't I use both! So, there you have it!!

Great book I would recommend this book to anyone wanting to get into homeopathic medicine for your horses. author is greatly missed. book was shipped on time

Not much out there for horsemen

Awesome. It teaches all about horse diseases symtoms and remedies. It does have some confusing words for people who havent really studied alot of medicine

This book is well-organized and simple to use, based on excellent homeopathic experience by a well-known homeopathic veterinarian. Very useful for all horse owners.

Several friends who own horses and other animals have recommended using homeopathic treatments.I bought this book on Amazon having read the reviews. Having looked through the contents it appears to be a concise and informative guide written and updated by experts in the field ( no pun intended! )The book arrived as promised the following day by Amazon's excellent delivery service. I have therefore given a five star rating - good product, great service.

This is a very clearly laid out, comprehensive guide to Homeopathy for horses and Having borrowed a copy , I promptly bought one. This is an excellent addition to the library of anyone with horses to care for.

Bought as gift for friends who have horses and are into homoeopathy. I know nothing about horses so can't comment.

Ho acquistato questo libro usato ad una cifra pari al doppio di quella del prezzo di vendita riportato in copertina 8.95£ !!Capisco che è un libro che è fuori produzione, ma il prezzo pagato è veramente eccessivo 16.67€ considerando che è USATO in buone condizioni.L’ho acquistato per un amica veterinaria che cura cavalli e voleva sapere di più sulle cure omeopatiche, lei comunque consiglia questo libro perchè lo reputa abbastanza interessante

Very useful with a lot of detail but written in a way that is easily understandable. However I think professional help should be sought before trying out things for more serious conditions.
