I have had an excellent experience with this headset so far. It's not your average plug-and-play device, it caters to someone a bit more savvy with more advanced needs but rewards you with advanced flexibility like hot swapping a battery without losing the call. That is a very cool functionality.First impressions are a bit overwhelming. There's a lot of stuff in the box and the manual is online only. I really like that - the last thing I need is more paper, just let me lookup the manual online. Points for that.Plugging the USB into my Windows10 computer it was detected and added correctly as an audio device first try. No reboot needed, so that couldn't have been easier. And they included a USB cable, which is not always the case. Nice!I didn't do any advanced connecting with a deskphone or lifter but this headset is ready for that if you need that flexibility. Like I said, this is an advanced headset, that can also just be used for more simple needs.The hardest part was manually attaching the earpiece to the headset. It takes a bit of force to snap into place and I was afraid I might break it. But all good - the build is secure and solid. It also comes with the option of a headset or ear coil so that's a nice touch. Choose which you like. The headset is very comfortable, as the device is super light. I hardly noticed I was wearing it for hours, which is a plus.Sound quality is absolutely finefor calls and meetings. Obviously it's not meant for music or video playback - it works, but that's just not what it's meant for. Voices are clear and the people on the other end could hear me loud and clear.Overall an excellent headset with advanced functionality for the more picky user.

I received the product, it was very easy to set up probably only took about five minutes to do so. The calls were crystal clear.Only one problem for me, I work from home and take inbound phone calls and often times will have 10 or more minutes between calls, so I enjoy doing my dishes and cooking while I’m waiting for a new call to come in. My fridge is right next to my oven top, and where I do the dishes. The signal immediately broke up and the headset beeped at me constantly warning me that the signal was compromised while performing these normal tasks. I believed it is the Dect technology, I never had that problem with my Bluetooth, my fridge was in the direct line from where I have the system set up in my office about 60 feet away, walking out into my garage about another 15 or 20 feet away the signal also died quickly, I returned it before the day was done.

I was sent this headset to provide a review. I am a solutions engineer for a UCaaS provider and I appreciate Discover sending this to me to test prior to recommending it to customers.The headset is light and comfortable. I have a bulky, 2 ear book headset, and never use it because it's too heavy. The Discover headset was barely noticeable.The sound quality was great. I only used it for some online meeting and a few soft phone calls, but all were crystal clear. I did not have a hook switch cable to connect it to my Polycom desk phone, but I have no doubt the quality would be the same.Lastly, the range of DECT is awesome. With my regular Bluetooth earbuds, I lose signal if I stray too far from my home office. The Discover headset allowed me to roam my entire house without loss of audio.The Discover D904 headset is a great choice for a high quality, wireless audio experience, and I will be recommending these to my customers.

I was looking forward to testing this headset; I use a Jabra 9400 Pro that is almost 5 years old and I’ve had to replace the battery in it once and am coming up on that again. I though a new headset would sound better, be more comfortable, and I liked the swappable battery feature. I was disappointed in all three areas.First, call quality. With A/B tests, all callers felt that my Jabra sounded much better. They are similar designs in that the boom microphones are roughly the same length and I am using over-the-ear loops. The calls sounded about the same to me, after adjusting the D904 to my tastes. But callers consistently commented on the call quality.Using the ear-hook, again the Jabra wins hands down. The ear hooks are a thicker plastic that spreads the weight better and are easier to pick up and put on your ear. I constantly had to fiddle with the D904 ear hook, and it got uncomfortable after a few hours. There are three size hooks, but they are all very thin and flimsy. The headband was too tight for my taste, but that might be personal taste.Switching the battery out is a great idea, except the fit and finish for this headset is not great. The battery never locks into the earpiece with a satisfying click, and I found that without careful positioning my phone would drop out. Along those lines, the headset is a looser than expected fit into the base station.The manual is very skimpy and is a download – you would think that a product at this price point would include a small manual or at least a “quick setup” sheet as there are some items requiring explanation, such as the wiring switch (used for wiring compatibility) and aux port (for a headset lifter).On the plus side, I liked the volume control on the headset — my Jabra has a touch strip that I have never mastered. Then again, I am never far from my phone when making a call, and it is rare that volume needs adjusting after initiating a call. Also, the range is great – I tested it to 250 feet without issue. Still, with the comfort, call quality, and fit-and-finish issues, this product is hard to recommend. There are better headsets out there at this price point.
