They're definitely 100 cotton, they're a cotton flannel, which makes them feel softer and maybe ever so slightly lighter weight then some other flannel sheets I have. I have some that are super soft, but thicker, and some that are thicker and not quite soft. These are kind of a perfect mix of soft and lightweight but also warm. Yes, a ton of lint came off in the dryer, but I've never had a pair of flannel sheets that didn't do that during a first wash. Or even other washes. I typically check my lint trap half way through the dryer cycle to clear it in a first wash.
