Sir Sucks-A-Lot, The great Powermatic Dust Collector.
Set up easily, five large peaces that bolt together. It was a one man job. be aware the motor assembly weighs about eighty pounds. Runs great, much lower noise level than my shop vac. All parts were present, all parts fit perfectly. Bolts and nuts are metric. A set of metric wrenchs made the job easier. But a crescent wrench will work. I use it at 115 volts (Not 220) Be aware that if you are going to use an extension cord a heavy duty 12 gauge or better is required. The instruction manual has a chart for distance Vs gauge. Instructions were clear and for the most part not needed. A very simple assembly. Very robust suction. Moves easily on it's casters. Remote works from in front of the control switch-box. Range seems to be about 20 feet and works to about 60 degrees on either side. Remote does not work from the back. Will not suck up a ten penny nail, which is a good thing. smaller nails and brads will be picked up and do sound loudly going threw the impeller. Get it! You will not be disappointed.

Some QA issues in the fit and finish of the product. But solid value buy
I expected more of Powermatic, since it's one of those venerable Wood Working brands that has been around forever. I had heard that they no longer manufacture their items in America but like most brands have shipped to Taiwan. Now, that is not always a bad thing. I have a Laguna bandsaw made in Taiwan and it is beautiful and all the small details of it were nice.I have not yet used the dust collector but I did spend a frustrating hour today partially assembling it, and over it looks to be pretty solid construction, it's mostly sheet metal and where their is plastic being used it's of a sufficiently sturdy construction. The main thing that irks me about this are the small details...1. The guy who put the screw holes into the sheet metal must have been taking a day off that day. One screw hole in particular was terribly askew for the securing the motor to the base, it was so bad I had to take a metal file and grind away around one edge just to get the screw to seat in the hole. Likewise the holes that were pre-drilled to attach the ports to the motor did not line up exactly, one screw in particular I practically stripped trying to get into the hole, since it was a few MM off center.2. There were 2 corners of sheet metal around the base of the motor that are bent upward. The item looked well packed and my drivers were courteous, professional and careful in delivering the item. I can only surmise this was a factory defect.3. The instructions are minimal. So there is some guesswork and reading/re-reading on certain steps since they only have one picture to assist you. However, I really liked that they separated the other language instructions into a separate booklets instead of combining it into one behemoth booklet. I could just recycle the French and Spanish books rather than them taking up space.I will update the review once I got a chance to finish assembling this guy. Honestly, these are minor qualms if the machine does what its suppose to do and lasts I could see updating to 4 stars. But PM should make their engineers and workers try to put one of these things together and see how easy it is to get a screw into a poorly threaded hole, and puzzle out their directions with only minimal pictures.Update: got this guy up and running, seems to be pretty strong. So strong in fact that it kept tripping my circuits. I have 220 in the garage so I rewired it. It was my first time rewiring a machine and it was a bit of a struggle. The manual does provide one wiring diagram, and I missed one subtle but important detail: there is a switch on the control panel to switch it from 115 to 220. It is called on the diagram but only very subtlety. Missing this, I powered it on. Luckily it only blew a tiny fuse which I was able to find a replacement for at my local big box store. Also I got some heavy duty 12 awg wire cord (20 feet) changing the wire out was a bear too it has a plastic grommet that i essentially had to crack to get the old wire out. But now that it's up and running it works pretty darn good.Other complaints I read are valid, yes this guy is super loud, and yes the remote range is limited and requires direct line of sight. But for this price this is a solid value. After getting past the setup I would buy this again. The nice castor wheels are a great value. Most tools up charge you for a mobility kit.

Awesome Dust Collector
This is my first step into real dust collection from a shop vac. I did so much research on different systems in my price range and ended up on the Powermatic PM1300TX-CK.I was not disappointed with my choice. I first ordered the dust collector from a 3rd party seller on Amazon (CT Powertools) at a discounted price. The seller canceled the order for no apparent reason and the price went up the next day. I contacted Amazon a few times and eventually Amazon decided to honor the original discounted purchase price. The machine came in one large (heavy) box and the filter canister came in another. It only took about 5 days to get to my house via a freight company. Everything came is excellent condition. There was no visible damage to the box and no damage to the pieces of the machine or filter canister.I assembled the dust collector in about an hour and a half by myself. It was not very difficult, although there a few points where the nuts and bolts are difficult to tighten due to limited space. I strongly recommend a ratchet set to assemble. You will need either an adjustable wrench or a set of wrenches, an allen wrench set as well as a few screwdrivers. After everything was put together, I tested it out. It works great. I will not hesitate to buy Powermatic tools nor will I hesitate to buy virtually everything from Amazon.

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!!! I've been a high school woodworking teacher, and these have been the biggest waste of money. Brand new, and they don't trap any of the fine dust we create. We breathe it in all day long. I've even sealed the upper bag with layers of duct tape, and still there is always a cloud of dust in the room that is visible from the hallway.STAY AWAY

Pretty and Powerful...
Hello,This was my first PM machine. The shop is mostly Grizz and one Jet Drill Press. Poor reviews on the Grizz 2HP from a quality control perspective. With the Holiday sale and free shipping only 300 more than the Grizz. PM1300 well packaged, beautiful finish. Manual easy to follow and rewire 220V piece of cake - PM even includes the extra wire nut needed to run 220V.Awesome unit, moves a ton of air. I extended control panel for better line of sight remote control performance. Completely understand why PM is "the Gold Standard." It was the PM1300 or the JDS 2HP Cycline for twice the money. Absolutely certain that with 6" main ducting and running one tool at a time in my one-man shop, this was a great choice. Amazon and Woodworking - great partnership!
