Aritha: Great hair strengthener
So far I think I like this. I am experimenting with this powder in combination with henna, brahmi, shikakai, neem based on what I have discovered researching how to strengthen and grow hair from videos on youtube. After the initial use of the combined powders to treat my hair, I noticed significant amount of less hair-fall. That was interesting. I will continue using. Delivery was great- lightening speed. Packaging in mint condition, no issues. Appeared to be a good quality product.

Love this stuff!!!!
I am so in love with this stuff! I decided to dive into no poo 2 weeks ago. I had this stuff sitting in my cabinet for a while. I was trying to slowly get rid of my old shampoo routine. But decided I wanted to go no poo ASAP. I gave away my old shampoo products to a friend. I have been doing water only washes and baking soda/ACV rinses every few days. My hair is very oily since I am "detoxing". My hair gets build up fast also due to working out every other day. The baking soda water didnt work too well for me. My hair was still oily and felt clean for only one day. To be a crazy oily mess the next. I decided to try this stuff this morning because I have a gala to attend this evening. My hair was so oily and stringy it is embarrassing. But I didn't want to go back to shampoo. I mixed the powder with water and tea tree oil (3 drops) to form a thick watery rinse. I dampened my hair and added the rise to my scalp/roots. I rubbed it into my scale for a few minutes then let it sit for a total of 5 min. I then washed it out of my hair with warm water. It felt grainy at first and I was worried it wouldn't come out. But I let my hair rinse under the warm water and used my fingers to massage all of it out. When my hair finally dried- It looked so shiny and clean!! It also doesn't feel crazy dry either like shampoo would do. This stuff is amazing. I plan on using it once a week!

YES!
Listen, this stuff is the truth!!!and by truth,I mean totally amazing. I have super thick kinky hair and I was tired of regular shampoos leaving my hair stripped and crunchy. I use bentonite clay to cleanse my hair and was looking other natural alternatives to shampoo. This stuff left my hair tangle free and super moisturized and I hadn't even used conditioner yet. It was like butter! My one caveat though, is that you may want to sift this somehow first. The tiny seeds took forever to wash out of my hair. I will definitely use this again, Ill just run it through some cheese cloth after I mix it with water.

So I was using many products so my hair wouldn't fall as much but was disappointed that none of the products worked
My hair is fragile and not volumized at all. I remember I had long hair when I was 12, but it was just limp and unhealthy, especially toward the end of my hair. I started noticing the amount of my hair was falling at an unusually fast rate about a few years ago. So I was using many products so my hair wouldn't fall as much but was disappointed that none of the products worked. For the past three years, I have been having my hair short so that I could appear to have more hair (and less falling), but now I want to grow my hair back out. Somehow I came across an article about using amla powder can prevent hair loss and increase growth of hair. I was very skeptical at first so I did some research. As I was researching amla powder, I also read through some articles about using combination of aritha, shikakai, amla so I decided to purchase all these products (luckily I did because I don't think amla, although it seems to be okay alone, would gave me the best result) The shipments came within few days of my purchases. First try: I only used the amla powder, coconut oil, and water as a hair mask. I massaged and applied it into my scalp and hair, then left it on for 2 hours then washed off the powder mixed. My hair came out to be oily. Oily was probably due to coconut oil as I accidently put a bit too much in the mix. I had to re-washed my hair with shampoo to get the grease off my head. Although it was a bit of disappointment that the amount of hair falling while washing with amla powder was the same as before using the amla powder, I found the amount of hair falling during the day was not as much as before I had used amla powder. So that was a plus. Second try: 3 days later, I combined Aritha, Shikakai, Amla, two drops of coconut oil and water to mix them until it was a muddy paste. I massaged it into my scalp and applied it to my hair and left it on for 3 hours before I washed it off. Not greasy/oily this time so I didn't use shampoo. Hair falling while washing with the mix was probably the same as before using the mix but amazingly, the amount of hair falling during the day was reduced by a lot. My hair came out to be volumized and cleaned!! I have never felt that clean before. So far so good!! I will continue using these products, and hopefully, my hair will become thicker, new hair will start to grow out, and the rate of falling will reduce.

Miracle!?
I have used this now just 3 times on my hair and am already noticing big changes. It's pure herb and yet it's amazing! My hair is so much bouncier these days. It's a big deal for me as I lost some precious hair due to lyme, and I am SO happy!! I use it in combination with the shikakai powder. Feels a bit strange rubbing it in, and takes a little work to wash out, but not a huge deal.

Diy Ayurvedic Shampoo
Update: I thought this brand worked well until I used it up and decided to go with Carmel Organics because they have larger 8 oz bags at a great value. This brand had lots of little particles that were so hard to wash out, but CO brand is super super finely ground and has absolutely no chunks or particles resulting in a super smooth shampoo paste! This brand may be good as a “sample” but I recommend just investing in Carmel Organics bulk bags for quality and value! Warning: This is a long review, but it’s probably worth reading if your goal is making your own shampoo:) I got this brand of both soap nut powder(aritha) and Shikakai to try for the past month and see if u can actually do homemade shampoo for once! I’ve learned that it’s not an exact science, but more of a personal journey and science experiment. I jot down my recipes as I go and have perfected it over the last month. Now that I’m hooked I’ll be buying more bulk packaging, but I highly recommend these as a start. I do wish they were a bit more finely ground as it can take a while to scrub all the bits out. If you’re wanting to try diy shampoo I recommend doing research on Pinterest/YouTube because much depends on your hair type. If you blindly follow a recipe like I did at first you might end up with really greasy hair😂 But since I’m white and have soft, fine hair that gets greasy way too quick if I add too many oils... I now stick to just equal parts of the powders. For long hair... 1 T aritha and shikakai(though I’m going to try adding amla, which are the classic 3 Ayurvedic shampoo paste ingredients) instead of mixing with water I soak 1 T. Fenugreek seeds in 1 cup of water for a day prior and then throw the seeds and water in the blender until it’s super blended, I strain it into a bowl over my powders. I like adding 1 T. Natural aloe gel and 1 T. rose water and just a few drops of argan oil and eo. It becomes a very mucilaginous mix(thanks to the fenugreek or methi which promotes extremely visible hair growth after a couple months, plus adds shine and a bit of volume I feel). I store it in the fridge for at least a week no problem and I’ll just take it out for each wash and apply generously to several parts I make in my hair with a comb. I work a good amount into my middle and ends as well, put my hair up in a clip and leave it for 5-15 mins to work it’s magic, jump in the shower, and then I wash it out very thoroughly at the end of my shower. I follow with an ACV rinse often adding a drop of cedar and rosemary eo to promote hair growth and shine and comb through thoroughly with a shower comb. I only wash my hair about every third day now that I’ve transitioned fully to this method. Also I’ve found this recipe makes way too much shampoo since I just cut my hair to shoulder length. I will probably use 1 teaspoon per powder now and less fenugreek water mix. I make all kinds of diy beauty products and I’ve tried a bunch of homemade AND store bought natural shampoo and this is genuinely the first one that I know I’m a lifelong believer in it!!!! And each of the little baggies lasts a couple months! All I can say is don’t give up, keep researching and experimenting to find the right mix for your hair(you can also use some of it as a face wash/mask too!) You’re totally in control. It’s affordable, fun, interesting, natural, safe and it works!!!
