Jack WolfskinMen's Glacier Canyon Jacket

I'm a 6'1" tall male, just under 14 stone with a 43" chest and fairly broad shoulders. I ordered both a Medium and a Large as Parkas by other brands tend to come up really big and bulky and I wanted a slimmer fit. I initially opted for the Medium and packed the large up for return. But wearing the medium around the house for a few minutes at a time over a couple of hours I started to suspect it was a bit tight. Particularly under the arms, over the chest and with the hood up it pulled ever so slightly on the top of my head. Considering Jack Wolfskin recommend tumble drying there was no room for even the slightest tightening up when washing.So I tried the Large again. There is actually very little difference to be honest which might explain why these come in 6 different sizes. But the Large didn't feel to tight in any of the ways the Medium did. It does look slightly bulkier, but not overly so like the ridiculously huge Berghaus Parka I tried previously. One thing to note though is that the necks are quite tight and snug.So all in all it's quite a slim fitting Parka with nice long sleeves and a decent hood. Weather protection seems very good so far - it's very warm, padded and keeps the wind and rain out. The draw strings are fiddly but other than slightly pulling in the waist band I won't really have a need to use them.This is just what I was after and the price I paid from Amazon was half the retail price from Jack Wolfskin direct online. Very pleased and I highly recommend this Parka. Bare in mind the points I made about sizing and consider that the available sizes are S, M, L, XL, XXL and XXXL. So for me the Large is probably similar to a Medium by any other brand.

The Parka is warm and duly protects very well against the elements. I bought the "L" and am 5 foot 11 inches tall and of slim build - accordingly, whilst the length is fine, I had to have both the sleeves and the hood reduced slightly by my tailor. Lastly, i purchased the Red Laqueur colour, which is spectacular looking and was on offer price, I suspect due to not being a colour of choice for most males Ha Ha!Overall, I recommend on the basis of high quality and performance :)

I've reluctantly replaced my Alpha Industries N3B parka with this one and I did not expect it to come even close to same warmth and level of waterproofing. I was wrong. This coat is like putting a shield on - bring on the bad weather.My only slight improvement would be to make it slightly thinner around the waist to give a more fitted look - top product don't hesitate to purchase

I normally buy 38" chest size, so I got a small size. It fits really well, though there would not be space underneath for a down jacket or anything like that. You'd only need anything much underneath if you were an Arctic explorer, though. This coat is toasty warm.If you put the hood up with the fake fur trim attached, you are enveloped in your own world of warmth. Mind you, you can hardly see out.The inside pocket will just take an OS map, but you'd struggle to fit one of the waterproof maps. Seriously, this coat is probably too heavy and warm for hill climbing except in a blizzard. However, there are times when you want a warm coat, and this fits the bill.

Warm and water proof. Getting very warm when walking but perfect for the extra time everyone is spending outside in 2020. Even with a single layer under its fine when out for early morning walks.The green colour is quite muted which is nice. Could've done with extra inside pockets or at least a deeper zipped pocket but the one is ok for a phone.

Only downside is the sleeves are really long and cover your hands!

Very good coat that is well made and will last for years!

Nice parka just strange the tags come un-attached from the garment but it seemed genuine and it looks great but unfortunately had to return a XXXL because it's too tight for my belly. Usually 3XL would fit but not this time. Won't give it 5 stars because of the tags being detached which according to another reviewer has happened before
