Compact, Convenient, and Worth the Price (Even if Not Indestructible)
Based on my experience using the Frabill Folding Landing Net from both my boat and while wade fishing from the shoreline, I've found it to be exceptionally compact and easy to maneuver. I previously owned the same net for about two years before it broke at the top of the handle. However, considering the very reasonable price point and the good amount of use I got out of the old one, I decided to replace it with the exact same model. For the value it offers, I would definitely recommend this landing net to anyone in the market for one.

This Frabill is a great net!
This Frabill is a great net!!! It's my third net of this type. The first one was the smaller foldable type that I gave away to my bass fishing buddy, when I ordered this larger 22x20 net. The bass guy loved the smaller net because it folded up real nice and compact for his smaller 18ft Bass Boat. The second larger net I tripped over it after landing a fish in my boat and broke it! It wasn't the nets fault. I also have a 18 foot fishing boat as well as Kayaks, and I prefer the larger opening of this 22"x20" net for both fishing craft. Yep, even for my Kayak this net folds and stows excellent!!! It's nice to have the extra reach and dimensions of the net itself encase you happen to hook into a larger fish. You wont be sorry! The construction and materials of the net, Aluminum handles, plastic fittings at hoop, and mesh net was fine. If I were to trip over this net like the clumsy person I was, and break this one again, I would still order another one. It wasn't the construction of this net that caused it to break, I mean I tripped over this net real hard, causing me to go flying! It's a great folding net!!!

Works as hoped. Too big of holes for minnows.
This net was good, but it's a little more flimsy than what I was hoping. It will still function fine as a net, but if you are raking the bottom of a pond (catching frogs or something) then it may bend/break if you get too much muck in it.The collapsing part is also very convenient when packing for vacation and traveling. If you are catching butterflies, birds, fish, frogs, rodents, crabs, etc...this net is perfect. It's not good minnows, guppies, or little stuff like that. The holes are about .25" diameter, which allows little things to slip out. A witty moth could probably escape as well.

Collapsible to store
This is a nice collapsible fish net compared to a regular standard

Bought as a gift
My son-in-law started getting back into fishing. I’m in the process of helping outfit him. This net seems to be a decent addition to his arsenal. Lightweight but reasonably durable.

and I wanted it telescoping so it could easily be stored
I would not buy this net if you plan to go fishing with it. I originally bought this because I wanted a longer net to use on steep embankments, and I wanted it telescoping so it could easily be stored. It is a nice length, and it folds nicely. This is the end of the good qualities.[...]It is terrible to actually use fishing. I have yet to use it and NOT end up with a tangled mess when landing a fish. This thing is like a magnet for hooks; if your hook even accidentally brushes it, it will certainly be caught in the mesh. It takes at least 5 minutes to remove a regular shank hook. If it's a small treble hook, forget fishing for the next 25 minutes unless you're willing to cut it out the net. This is a real damper on fishing. My dad and I have lost more than a few trout already this season because of the tangles. We weren't expecting to waste so much time between catches removing tangles. When I landed a trout a week ago, I got my treble hook stuck in the net (I remove the hook while the fish is still in the net as holding a trout too long will surely kill it.) As I was messing with the tangle, my dad caught a trout, bu I couldn't untangle the net in time to get it landed, and he lost the fish. This has happened to us multiple times, and we've only fished 5 times this season. Also, if you have a chain link stringer, forget using it with this net. Again, I usually try to put a trout on a stringer while it's netted because I don't want to kill the fish until I'm ready to clean it. The holes in the mesh love to slip around the small openings in the chain links. Just as you get one chain free from the 5 or so mesh holes, you've probably attached 3 more links. It's a real pain to work with. Also, I fished next to a guy with this same net. He had the same problems, but even worse, his net was almost unusable. The net head is able to fold down for storage by utilizing a plastic clip. Apparently, this plastic clip cannot handle too much stress, as it snapped withing its suggested weight limit. This means that the net will no longer sit straight with the pole as seen in the picture; the guy had to use the net like a ladle.Save your money and don't buy this.

Folds up neatly, space saving
I really like this product because it folds up to such a small package. I have a 17' speed boat and storage is an issue, the frame of the net folds back upon the shaft which has an elastic strap to hold the net in place for storage. This fits nicely in the side compartment of my boat. I am not a serious fisherman, but just fish for fun, and this product works perfect for me. It seems to be sturdy enough to last for years of use. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

Great Buy!
This is a quality product. Strong, compact, light, easy to carry, and well thought out by a company with respectable standings among it's competitors. The net easily folds out and locks into place in one smooth step. The handle, fully extended, is a cinch to lock and unlock, can easily support the weight the net is intended for (except maybe a cinder-block). A simple and effective companion. Should last years for fish and crabs too.
