For example the stove will simmer a 2 qt pot of water when on very low or bring it to an aggressive boil on medinum heat. it will adjust from a very low (less than simmer) flame to a rageing boil. Stove efficentcy can vary by gas can brand (some companies may not be filling completly to 8 or 8.8 oz) and how high of a heat you run it. i so far have put in about an hour to hour and a half of cooking and still have a little less than half a can of butane left. The only limitation to the stove is the pot supports. The pot supports are 123mm or 4 3/4" from point to point. so any thing at or less will be too small to be held up by the supports. The supports are also aluminum or some alloy of aluminum. They melt at a lower temp then steel so if you are heating a pan with nothing in it on full blast high. to give you a better since of security however aluminum depending on the alloy melts between 865-1240 F or 463-671 c . so when you see reviews of people melting them they are getting them extreamly hot, far above most any cooking situation. With food in the pot or pan they will never reach this tempature. This should also show that these stoves are able to put out some serious heat. So pro tip for save use would be this. Use the stove and get to know it. dont assume its your gas range and use it as such. I actually like it better than a gas range and far better than an electric cook top. Dont use pots or pans that hang over the unit or over where the gas can sits. stay within the silver surface. I own 5 burners from Gas-One and Iwatani. This one is the best because it has the largest diameter burner ring I can find. It puts out an equivalent amount of heat at 12,000 btu while only consuming as much fuel as a 10,000 btu burner. It heats up a 10” skillet insanely fast but be careful with expensive nonstick pans, these burn hotter than LP or natural gas! I will say a drawback is the burners house construction. It is not as substantial as my Gas-One’s and can not support a lot of weight. It can’t hold a loaded 6-8qt boiling stock pot but larger 10” - 12” frying pans like Sensarte, Carote and Michaelangelo it excels at! Stir-fry with this bad boy is awesome while not burning through your cans of butane so fast. It just came in and I set it up and it is a very cool little stove. It is incredibly easy to set up, worked instantly, has a low burner seating (which is one reasons I chose this one), adjustable heat that is easy to control and should work for everything from high flame to low simmer, and it is attractive and low profile and looks nice on the kitchen counter. I expected it to be maybe a little heavier and more sturdily made, it is pretty light weight. But then for anyone taking it on a road trip lighter weight would be a plus. Am happy with purchase. Would purchase again.
