I ordered 11 different helmets (3 IRH, 5 Ovation and 3 Troxel) because I don't want to wear a helmet but I need to so I was determined to find a good: style and comfort/fit. I learned a lot about helmets and myself during this process. No helmets look good on me (I have a small face & they all look like buckets on my head). That said.... padding, fit, vents and STRAPS make a big difference. I ultimately went with this helmet because it fit like a glove, the strap system is easy and it's not as bobble head as some others. Generally speaking, I liked all the IRH varieties but this one won because of the strap - the others were just too complex and after trying 15min (ea) to get the strap right, I gave up.

What a difference from the helmet I was wearing before. This one really covers your whole head, it's not "perched" on top of your head. Very comfortable and there's no pressure on your head. I could feel the top, front part of my head on my last helmet which was an uncomfortable pressure point.Looks nice, too! I love the replacement guarantee if you have an accident. Mine said for 3 years (bought Aug. 2018). It has the date on the side of the box so you know when you might need to replace it for showing. Mine is May 2018.I like the 2 inserts. One fit perfectly, the other is a bit tight so I won't use that one. I like how it makes it a custom fit by giving you 2 choices. I do wish you could buy a 2nd liner though. I haven't been able to find just the liner for sale anywhere.I put on a chin wrap from my last helmet to add some cushion there. The strap itself isn't bad, but having a softer cover is better.I haven't owned it long so I can't speak to durability. I do wish it came with a light weight bag like some of the others for storage.

Wow, I love this helmet! Great features are a streamlined low profile appearance, secure fit, and a comfortable adjustable chin strap. I also love the snap out liner and that you get an extra liner included -- such a great idea! You can wash your liners regularly and never be without a clean one - no more stinky, sweaty helmet! I have tried on so many helmets in search for a great-fitting comfortable helmet -- various Charles Owens (looked too big on my head and felt too heavy), Samshield (looked like bowl on my head - weird fit), One K (too round for my head; and the oval / long version was too long), and some others. This was the winner. My head is between an oval and round shape and this fits great. It's a nice-looking, lightweight, well-priced, and safe helmet. And with TWO washable liners!

I was looking for a helmet I could use for schooling that would also look nice for shows. Since helmets have to be replaced periodically and can degrade in storage, I didn't see a point in buying an expensive one for shows just to have it sit around most of the time. I needed something nice but not too expensive. I also have a large oval head and knew from past experience that finding a good fit would probably take some trial and error. I tried this and two other brands Trauma Void and One K. I found the Trauma Void to be far too round for my head with a huge chinstrap, but otherwise it seemed pretty nice. It did have a second liner, but it didn't really improve the fit much. I was able to order the One K defender in oval XL, and it is a beautiful helmet. It fit well, but for me personally seemed a little top heavy and maybe not as low profile as I wanted. The IRH 4G was perfect. Even though it doesn't come in an oval size, it fit me very comfortably, and it's profile was more flattering. It fits snuggly without digging in or leaving marks on my forehead. With the thinner liner, it fits my hair up if needed, it feels great on and looks classy. It has nice styling without being over the top flashy, so it'll be great for Hunter shows. If you're in doubt, try a few and see which is most flattering. Every head and face is different. This one is perfect for me. Thanks, IRH!

My daughter loved the look and color (navy) of this helmet. She was replacing an IRH helmet that went missing at the stables. The problem with this helmet is the strap. There is velcro on one side of the head that the strap with Velcro to adjust can't possibly reach. So you've got Velcro on the strap under your chin. It's scratchy, stiff and uncomfortable. Nothing like the helmet we were replacing. Very disappointing. Waiting for UPS to pick it up now for return.

I tried on so many helmets at a local tack store and none fit as good as this one. It comes down around your head and really stays on. It doesn't give you a big bulky mushroom look like the Charles Owen ones do. It's light and keeps my head well ventilated. It looks as stylish as the much more expensive Samshields. I bought the velvety looking version with a shiny vent and am very happy with it. After a friend saw mine, she bought the matte version with a matte vent, and she loves hers too.

I am really happy with this helmet. Not only is it super comfortable and light, it fits my head like a glove. I grew up riding in IRH's back when they were popular, and it's kind of funny that they've now become the bargain helmet. They still meet IRH quality for structure and comfort and this is a sleek looking helmet if you're not brand-conscious. This is an excellent helmet at an excellent price to keep you "on trend" on a budget.The replaced emblem is slightly misaligned and I wish they had tried a little harder with that (for those that don't know, they replaced the "IH" that looked very similar to the One-K helmets with the little IRH badge). It was clearly replaced post-manufacturing.

I've only used this helmet a handful of times but it's considerably more comfortable than other helmets I've bought. I would get headaches riding in those other helmets eventhough they fit well. No headaches with this one. Easy to buckle. I like that the fit is adjustable with the different inserts. Haven't tried yet in high heat but so far I'm pleased with it.

Great helmet, really comfortable and awesome aesthetics. Got a lot of compliments on it! The interchangable liners are very useful.
