Another Good Organic Coffee
The wife and I love our coffee in the morning and go through the time consuming process of grinding fresh beans and using a French press to go through our morning ritual. We make two, 14 oz. cups every morning and sometimes in the evening with a snack. With a minimum of 28-oz of coffee a day, we go through a lot of coffee beans. Local grocery stores sell whole bean coffee, but the flavor is just not very good or fresh tasting, so we have to go to the Internet to get quality coffee. The nice thing about Amazon is that there is a nice choice of different brands, and the reviews of others who have purchased the coffees help us to choose interesting looking beans to stock up on. Plus, the prices are great and you can usually get bigger bags.We have tried several brands of coffee from Amazon sellers and they were all good coffees. We like to experiment with new brands, so, this was our first chance to try the Mayorga Organics brand. A nice thing about this brand is that it comes in a 2-pound package so it will last longer, and we don't have to buy multiple smaller bags at usually more dollars than a single large bag costs. This is a medium coffee but it tends to be on the more bold side to us. Our first time brewing, after grinding the beans, we let the hot water sit in the French press for 4 minutes before pressing and pouring the coffee into our cups. The result was a little more strong and bitter than we like, but the taste was still good. The next time we made our coffee, we let the coffee sit only 3 minutes in the French press before pressing and the result was perfect for us. So, it depends on how strong you like your coffee when using a French press. Longer time in the press means stronger coffee.I would be interested in trying some other versions of Mayorga coffees like their Roastmaster's Blend the next time I order. This one was a winner for us.

Looking for a great-tasting cup of socially & environmentally responsible coffee? Here it is.
We usually drink dark roast from Trader Joe's, but to change things up I searched for moka java on Amazon and discovered this amazing company: socially and environmentally responsible, organic shade-grown products sold at a suprisingly economical price because there is no distributor to take a cut. At TJ's you can find fair trade organic or shade-grown, but not all three. And we can't recycle their foil-lined canisters, just the plastic lid. So over-packaged! By contrast, Mayorga Organics uses traditional top-sealed paper bags that keep the beans plenty fresh. The moka java brewed up rich and smooth. We really enjoyed it, so we'll buy it again. But next we want to try the dark roast Cubano.

Mocha doesn't mean chocolate-flavored!
It was Heaven just opening the bag of coffee! It smelled delicious and I enjoy grinding the fresh coffee every day. The taste of both cold brewed and regular coffee machine cups is mellow, NOT bitter or burnt-tasting. I'd searched for mocha java for years, having been a fan of it 35 years ago...but forgetting its name. I found the coffee last week while flipping through Amazon, and I couldn't be happier. I think the price for 2 pounds of whole beans is reasonable, especially when I'm enjoying every cup so much. The company that produces & distributes this coffee seems to deal fairly and with integrity with the actual growers themselves, if the information on the bag is accurate. I'm so happy I found this coffee; I'll continue to purchase it in the future.

Great seller and company. Really good coffee. Really great price.
Really tasty coffee. Love me some good coffee. I'm not a snobby connoisseur. I appreciate quality fresh, whole bean, coffee to grind fresh every brew. I normally buy Groundworks or Stumptown beans for the weekend home drip brew and grab to-goes from from coffee-shops during the week but since we been stuck inside these last couple months we been brewing a pot at home everyday and those 12oz Stumptown bags go real quick. I randomly stumbled on this brand when I turned to Amazon looking for lager bags that was a better deal but still. Found a few brands that seemed promising but finally landed Mayorga. They seem to be doing all the right things and people like it. Super stoked I found it!We still grab Stumptown bags and sprinkle those days in but the new every-dayer has become Mayorga Mocha Java and I honestly enjoy it as much as the Stumptown/Groundworks days. Organic. Fresh taste. Smooth, not bitter. Mellow medium roast. Huge fan of medium roasts and this is right on point. I want to try their other medium Roastmaster's blend next once its back in stock. Good stuff.

Great coffee, amazing value. Don't be put-off by the name.
I had been buying the Nicaraguan Rio Coco beans and loved them, but that was apparently a limited edition. I bought this one and while I liked the Nicaraguan a little better, this is an excellent coffee. In my opinion, it's hard to find a medium roast with good flavor, they normally vary from "horrible" to "tolerable." My only criticism is that I would prefer it blended more to the "earthy" side, rather than the sharper "fruity" side, but that's just personal taste, so YMMV. It's still my go-to coffee - the beans are shiny and fragrant, the company's policies are easy to support, and the price is crazy low.Just as an added note, don't be confused by the name! I think when a lot of people see "mocha", they think of a cocoa flavor, like an iced mocha frappe type thing. This is NOT a weirdly artificial, chocolate flavored coffee. It is a blend attempting to recreate the original mocha and java beans.

Flavor Dissapointment
I used to buy Mayorga bold roast and it had a deep and intense coffee flavor which I liked. Then I decided to get a medium roast and I am a bit dissapointed. The flavor of this coffee is too sour and flat. I will not buy this coffee again.
