Alaafia! I found this book to be very informative. It provides the reader with a good background on the fundamentals and foundations of Ifa, both as a spiritual practice and as a way of life. There's also a good amount of information on how we can honor our ancestors and the orishas. While a book can never replace what you can learn from your Baba or Iya, this book will help you get started on your spiritual journey.

Educational for IFA

This book is wonderful because it not only speaks about the orisa but it also gives historial timelines as to the origins of the orishas. Sometime a lot of the gods from different pantheons are called mythical and this book confirms the validity of the true of origins of the orishas. I purchased the book because I was misguided one too many time before and I know own to do my own research.

This book is definitely a good read. For someone who is interested in the Yoruba religion I think this book would be a good start

I bought this book to get more information about the Orishas and African spirituality. For my first book on the Orishas I got way more than just information! I was hooked just off of the authors personal story. But the whole book helped me gain a different perspective on certain topics. It arrived in great condition; the art on it is inspiring to say the least, and it’s easy to read worded, so beautiful in my opinion.

When I first began to read books on the ancient Yoruba religion of Ifa and the worship of the Orisa, I found the material to be sometimes confusing and fragmented. Mr. Neimark's work, "The Way of the Orisa : Empowering Your Life Through the Ancient African Religion of Ifa,� is concise, clear and informative. Much detail is absent from the work, but it was just what I needed as a primer to prepare me for more detailed and difficult readings. Since then I have looked at more detailed works like that of Dr. William Bascomb, and the work titled "Flash of the Spirit." Ifa is a very complex religion, and Mr. Neimark's explanations are simple and straightforward. ...I give this work 4 stars because the lack of too much detail is precisely what helped me to read it easily and move on to more complex works. I recommend the book to everyone who is interested in Orisa worship. Read it and come to your own conclusions. You must also look at Mr. Neimark's web site, which is very informative, and a good follow-up after reading his book. ...

In learning about IFA, this book is a must have. Very informative

If you are a beginner i recommend you read WARRIORS first Author:William J. Irizarry Then I recommend you read THE WAY OF THE ORISA & after that then The seven African powers all in that order

Delivery was prompt and item was in good condition! This book is a greta introduction to the Yoruba cosmological systems of veneration. It expalins many concepts such as sacrifice and divinations very well for a novice and covers some of the most well-known Orishas in excellent detail. Ashe!

This was written by a European mind and it shows. Yes, it is African spirituality is written but the communication is European. I’m not sure how a European decided he could communicate a concept of African consciousness but money talks in Yoruba land. If you are interested in learning about African consciousness you are better off reading: Marimba Ani, Amos Wilson, Asante, Hilliard, Cheikh Diop, and Clarke. I should have known what I was getting into when I saw the author sirname Neimark. The words are there but not the feeling or transmission you get from African writer.

Good introduction for those wishing to know more about the religion.
