BEWARE! This seems suspicious and fake. Possibly a knockoff product!!!
I have been using the Systane nighttime gel for many many years. This is the first time I've gotten a different shaped tube with a white cap. I noticed that it did not perform as well as before. My eyes were very dry still in the morning and it does not melt in my eyes as previous ones did. I went to Safeway and bought another tube to compare and it was the regular longer tube with the black cap. Please be wary of this product. I think it is a cheap knockoff of some sort!

Must TRY for tired-dry-irritated-red eyes
I have extreme dry eyes which has resulted in nightly warm compresses, night eye mask, occasional prescriptions of steroid drops and antibiotics, daily eye supplements, and a night time ointment. For those who suffer with the same dry eye irritations, this ointment provides me with the most relief. I have even resorted to using during the day when I’m having a bad eye day. It is truly the factor that determines my level of comfort the following day. I squeeze every last drop because it is expensive, but it’s a necessity! I’ve recently had the Lipi Flow procedure which greatly improved my eyes and lessened the severity of the condition, but using this ointment remains the determining factor in my comfort. I wake to refreshed, soothed eyes, and it helps them not look and FEEL tired and red.

This is not like previous purchaed ointment
This product does not perform like those ointments that I have previously used. Instead of coming out in a smooth line and "melting" on your lower lid, it comes out as a sticky glob and I have difficulty getting it to stay on my lower lid. I contacted Alcon with the lot number and they said they would send a replacement though they would not provide any information as to that lot.

Very Dry Ointment That Didn’t Do The Job
I purchased a 2-pack of this ointment at the recommendation of my optometrist. I had never used an eye ointment prior to this one. I used the ointment but never really liked it. It came out of the tube very firm and in the morning it took a few hours before my thick greasy eyes would completely clear up so I could read anything. I continued to use the product because I didn’t know better. I recently picked up the same product at Wal-Mart and the consistency is completely different. It comes out of the tube in a much softer consistency and feels so much better in the eyes. The eyes are also not so greasy the next morning. I don’t know if the product sold through Amazon was old but I will just buy from Wal-Mart from now on.

WTH DID I PUT IN MY EYE??
Don't do it. Do not order this product from amazon. Go to the store and purchase this. I don't know what was in this, but it made my eyelids swell and my eyes dry, red and irritated for the entire next day. This is not the same systane ointment that you buy at walmart. Please look at all of the pictures that I have uploaded. My eyes looked fine before placing this. I have LASIK scheduled for the end of the week and the doctor suggested using systane ointment to get my eyes in optimal condition (really moist, since lasik temporarily drys out your eyes) prior to the surgery. Now I just hope they will be in decent enough condition that I don't have to reschedule my surgery. If you look at the picture of the boxes, they both say that if you can not see the skirting on the cap, do not use. Wish I would have read that. The tube from Amazon did not have that same message on the tube. The walmart one does and the skirting pops up when you open it for the very first time. The skirting is visible on the amazon tube from the moment you see it and it can not be any other way, due to the shape of the tube (see pics). The black lid came from walmart. The white was from amazon. The walmart box has much less writing on the front. The day after I used the Amazon purchased product, my eyes hurt. I considered going to the doctor, but it was Saturday and I have a high deductible insurance plan. I rode it out and did 4 or 5 eye washes. I used tons of refresh drops to help the irritation. I used hot compresses over my eyes. The walmart purchased product did not irritate and seems to have helped some. If this review is helpful, please indicate by marking below. This way others will see it first and I can save them from making the mistake of purchasing this.

Great relief for your dry eyes
I have allergies and the meds dry out one's eyes and getting older doesn't help either. This product is a just the cat's meow. It really soothes the eyes and replenishes the eyes with nutrients that are lacking once one ages. Highly recommend it along with their day drops for dry eyes. I don't have to use the day drops nearly as often - my eyes feel so much better. Note: allergy eye drops also dry out one's eyes! So I stopped using them.

Really helps with my extremely dry eyes!
I have extremey dry eyes. I try to use this ointment every night to keep my eyes lubricated to start the next day. It's a bit messy with the ointment that ends up a little bit on the face but it's worth it. My dryness test at the eye doc was a 4 and a 5. I asked what a normal read is and he responded "oh, a 14 or 15!". So, needless to say, I need all the help I can get. I do think it's expensive for the amount in the tube but I'm sure they will get as much as they can if you will pay it.
