Escape North! The Story of Harriet Tubman (Step-Into-Reading, Step 4)

My daughter needed this for school and it was easy to find, buy and have it for her when she needed it. Also my 9yr old could read it over and over if she wants. She loves to read and I always like that these types of book note what kind of reader level it is meant for.

My son and I really enjoyed the read. For him, the story of Ms Harriet Tubman was captivating and for me it brought back memories of reading and seeing movies on her courage and bravery. She was fearless! I highly recommend for your little ones. He wants to read more about her and the history of slavery in the U.S.

Purchased for my 9 year old daughter as a black history month read and to add to our home library. She enjoyed it and it added to her knowledge of the great Harriet Tubman. Would recommend.

This was a perfect introductory book for my 2nd grader. It was also helpful as one of the books used by my 3rd grader to research and make a school report about Harriet Tubman.

Bought this for my 8yr old, 4th grader. It's nice but I think it is be rather her reading level so in the future will go with something a little more complex so as to give her a challenge.

This is a must read for all American children, especial African American kids. Courage comes in so many forms. Who would think that a small, formerly enslaved, African American woman would have such a huge amount of courage! Most importantly, Harriet Tubman learned courage from her mother and her father. Even thought they were slaves they put everything on the line to keep there family together. Strong families make strong communities. Moreover, Ms. Tubman work as a Union spy and raiding party leader is definitely note worthy and deserving of praise. I think Ms. Tubman should be on the US 100 bill. She is worth her weight in gold.

Is an excellent book for my five year old to read herself (she was challenged, but not too difficult). It was tricky for me to explain slavery, etc, but she was very intrigued about it all.

An amazing woman who inspired many during a very difficult time in history. Great to have books that are historically accurate but written for younger audiences at their reading level. A great addition to our Black History Month collection.

Très bon livre! Le livre est bien conçu pour les enfants,destiné aux anglophones,il est également adapté aux enfants francophones car il permet l'enrichissement du vocabulaire,l'écriture est assez grosse et les phrases sont espacées. Des images agrémentent les textes également,ce qui suscitent l'intérêt des enfants.
