Baseball: How To Play The Game: The Official Playing and Coaching Manual of Major League Baseball Paperback – Illustrated, March 8, 2011

I gave this as a gift for my teenager nephew who plays Baseball. He told me that he really liked it and he always read it! I browsed the book as well and it has a lot of pictures. It has professional techniques and it shows on how to be achieved by teen baseball players.

A good start to learning fundamentals and basics of baseball, needed more on rules & baseball slang .

My boy is 8 years old, AA little league, and into the game. This book has plenty of nuance that is currently beyond his understanding, but it will be on his shelf for years, and he's getting some good nuggets out of it. Recommended.

My grandson was asking a lot of questions about the game having never played. This seems to cover everything we can think of.

The Pictures are OK but the content is lacking. To have the author say it is definitive is WAY of the mark. It is decent supplemental reading at best. It spends two pages discussing books by Ted Williams and Charlie Lau, where it says they are two of the most important books on hitting.The Baseball Playbook by Ron Polk is the definitive book on baseball and even he says you should never stop reading or learning about baseball. It has nice picture and a few nice things to say. I'd rather read at least 30 other books on baseball than this one. If you have young players check out Winning Baseball Series by Trent Mongero. If you have older check out the baseball playbook.Major League Baseball should be really read the content of it's publications.

Die drei Sterne gibts an sich auch nur wegen der doch sehr schönen Bilder.Wer sich hier als ausgebildeter Baseball Übungsleiter Inspirationen erhofft sollte das Buch lieber nicht kaufen.

This brick of a book is nicely designed, easy to read with excellent images. It covers playing the game from A to Z, but does not go into depth nor offer trouble shooting solutions. The book arrived new, and the spine became unglued within hours of opening. Amazon was great and exchanged the book in lightning speed.

Lots of photographs. Text is very general, could be more in depth.
