A: No, these are polyester, definitely not silk.

**Q: For anyone who has them hanging from a fence, what have you attached them with at the top of the fence panels ?**
A: Hello,  I have them in my home trailing around the stairs and inside balcony.  If I needed to put them outside, I would place the ends between two thin peiced of wood or clear tape sandwiched between two slim lengths of wood and then screw them into the fence.

These came very quickly, weren't tangled upon arrival but if you're not careful after taking out of the packet they can tangle quite easily, on the plus side this makes it easy to intertwine them without needing any additional wire or fixings. They did have a bit of a smell upon opening but as they were for outside, didn't bother me. I think they look pretty realistic and add a lovely touch to our garden arch.
