I believe there's a component in them that is extremely vulnerable to radio-frequency bursts as both of them seemed to fail when I was trying to open my garage door with its own clicker. I would encourage people to avoid this part as it is either very very poorly designed, or there's a very weak part used in it.Eventually what will happen is the unit will just click all the time, draining your battery. It will still work for controlling the blinkers, but something inside loses resistance and the clicking goes on forever, even when your engine is shut off (blinker units are powered with the engine off so you can use the hazard flashers). Currently I have to remove the unit every time I park my vehicle and re-plug-it-in every time I use it.
