Slight Electrical Mystery
I have a 2004 Honda Accord EX V6 4 door. This regulator functions properly to lower and raise the window glass, but something a bit odd happens when raising the window using the toggle switch mounted in the driver's side door. The front passenger window now has an "auto-up" function (not auto-down, just auto-up) which it never had before, but further, the window now functions mostly in ONLY auto-up mode. I cannot raise the window partially (at least not always) and I cannot "crack" the window because sometimes the window functions normally (non auto-up) until it's raised to about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way up, at which time the auto-up feature will kick in. Other times the auto-up function activates when the window is fully open with only a single tug on the switch. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why it sometimes functions one way versus the other - it functions the same way whether pulling up fully on the toggle switch, or pulling up only slightly as you would do to effect normal (non auto-up) window function.Another oddity is that after the window is raised and fully closed, and even after I release the toggle switch, the regulator motor sometimes "clicks" periodically as though it is still receiving power from the switch - 2 clicks about 1 second apart which then repeats every 5 or 6 seconds. Other times there is only a single click about 1 or 2 seconds after the window is fully raised, or no click at all. It's as though the new auto-up function is sometimes not properly recognizing that the window is fully raised and it keeps sending power periodically to the motor. When the clicking doesn't stop by itself, I can get it to stop by pressing down on the same toggle switch very briefly, sort of "tapping" on it once. It's not enough to actuate the motor and begin lowering the window, but it does appear to "reset" whatever electrical pulse was still going to the motor.Note that all the aforementioned stuff happens only when using the toggle switch mounted in the drivers door. The window operates just as it did before the regulator replacement when activating it using the switch mounted in the passenger door. It's a slight nuisance, but I don't use the passenger side window enough to justify spending any more time researching the mystery.
