I’m older and have the ubiquitous issues with joint pain, to the extent that it’s impeding mobility from time to time. Mostly knee and back issues which I generally manage well - but there are days, there are days. I woke up this week with a pinched nerve in my back - this despite always carefully sleeping on my side with a firm pillow between knees and ankles to align the spine. Pinched as in I was hobbling around and that was just no good at all. I remembered I had bought this and decided to get it out and figure it out and now I’m adding on a two years old review because this thing is just that good. It does have a slight learning curve about which button does what - I simply attached the electrodes and clicked the buttons until I could feel what I wanted. So easy. I actually had bought a caheaper version and upgraded to this one because it has a time function (the other quit after 15 minutes) and the max power on this is much higher ( but for heavens sake start low and work your way up. These little things put out quite a jolt. It’s exceedingly well built - it looks like an iPhone. You’ll want to also order extra electrode pads - even with the best care they lose their sticky after a few uses; and optionally electrode gel. But using this, I can walk completely normal and do things that no way could I accomplish without it. I don’t know the science behind it - I’ve heard that it helps because it targets the muscles and helps to loosen them, and I’ve also heard the electrical impulses both release pain assisting endorphins and trick your nervous system into paying attention to the electrical activity instead of your actual pained joint. I honestly don’t care how it does, I am just so happy that it does. The subtle mood boost is an added benefit too.

After careful research on a number of TENS units, I ended up selecting the TechCare Plus24C. The research paid off because this was a solid purchase and I am very pleased with the overall quality of the unit and its accessories. When the unit arrived, I was impressed with the quality of the packaging. The unit came with great accessories: (1) A well-made and sturdy storage case, (2) a cradle for storing the in-use pads and wrapping the cords around after use, (3) a belt clip, and (4) three sets of pads. It also came with the wall charger and USB cord. Other units that I researched came with some, but definitely not all, of these accessories. That alone is a great selling point, when you consider the reasonable price-point for this unit. I love the look and feel of the Plus24C as well. It is fashioned similar to the first iPhone and has a solid build. I found it to be very easy to operate and it performed to my expectations. I appreciated the printed illustration that came with the unit, which showed you various options for pad placement. Another key feature is that you can use the A channel for one area on your body and the B channel on another area, with varying modes/intensity. I noticed that with other units, the A/B channels had to use the same mode and intensity. That was definitely a plus for me. Again, I got quite a bit for the price point and it works very well.

The TechCare Plus 24 is easy to use and is plenty powerful (0.4 watts max) for helping to reduce pain and inflammation. There are 6 'massage' modes to choose from and within each mode there are 4 choices. I tend to use the Kneading #4 (basically continuous) and Cupping #4 the most. You control intensity separately with the +/- buttons. Battery life is great, lasting more than a week of daily use (1-2x a day) before needing recharge. I haven't had a problem with the included snap button pads breaking like someone else mentioned, but I am careful when I take them off. If you prefer to use the pin style connectors instead with pin style pads, check out Amazon item # B01HR76RYG for Tens Lead Wires 2mm Pin Connectors with 2.35mm safety-plug, which works great with this unit. Suggestion for improvement: Add ability to switch between 6 main massage modes without having to cycle through all 24 total modes one at a time.

This thing is amazing. I got one for my girlfriend to help with menstrual cramps, and on a whim I decided to get one for myself for random aches and pains. My knee started to hurt because I started jogging again. The pain was very bad. I could hardly walk. The muscles and tendons were very sore and taking a long time to heal. My job requires a lot of walking and it was extremely hard to do. I decided to try this out, and the pain relief was immediate. It's easier to use than I thought it would be. You just connect the wires to the electrode pads and to the device, wipe the skin with a damp rag, place the pads, then turn it on. Then you press the + button to raise the strength, and/or the M button to change the pulse setting. That's it. The electrode pads are easy to reuse at least 10 times each, and body hair isn't an issue. It doesn't hurt when you peel the pads off and it doesn't remove your hairs. It's very discreet if you place the pads under clothing. I leave the pads on all day at work and if my knee starts to hurt I just take 30 seconds to turn the device on and I can instantly walk again. I had it running for an entire 12 hours once and the battery was still at 2/3. It only took 15 minutes to recharge, too. I also used it on the back of my neck to relieve a headache that I had, and that worked too. Also, you can use it on airplanes once you're past security, so that's a huge bonus for my job. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.
