They are definitely a step above what we were using previously, and he loves them. They are thin enough to feel high quality, but they don't feel like they are going to break. We put them in the dishwasher without any issues (probably 20 times in the dishwasher as of me writing this). The little curve on the top is a great addition as it makes spills way less frequent.
