I have the BHX2500”CA” model blower. The “CA” means that it meets California emissions standards. Those standards require that the factory carb be set for optimum emissions, not optimum performance. And they also require that the carb cannot be adjusted by the consumer, so as soon as some wear occurs or some deposits build up the blower starts to run poorly and, except for cleaning/rebuilding that factory carb there is nothing you can do. And even if you fix it, it will just happen again. I do like clean air, but in this case the specifications have a negative effect on the reliability and durability of the machine. The solution is to get an aftermarket carb that is adjustable, like this one. The new carb was easy to mount and connect. The blower started right up and with a few adjustments my blower now runs stronger than when it was new. NOTE: This comes with a new fuel supply/return/filter hose assembly that mounts on top of the fuel tank with a rubber grommet. The new grommet has a different design than the factory grommet. Due to the thickness of the fuel tank material I was unable to install the new grommet and ended up reusing the original grommet with the new hoses and filter.

Replaced the carb on my Makita BHX2500 blower. After adjustment it runs great, the single adjustment is REALLY touchy other than that seems decent quality. It was nice to have some adjustment since the factory carb is pre set.

It didn't solve my problem and yes it's a carburetor problem.

My blower was bogging down when I would run it at full speed. I replaced the air filter and spark plug but the machine did not run any better. A little research led me to replace the carburetor. I used the original gasket as it was still clean and much larger than the one sent with the new unit. I was forced to use the old gas lines and fuel filter as the ones supplied with were a bit too short. Unit is working great now. A relatively easy and inexpensive fix!

worked just as described. the carb saved me from having to buy a brand new blower. everthing was easy t install. even came with a new Gromit and fuel lines. a lot of other reviews have said that the gromit was the wrong size but the gromit and fuel lines were perfect. the gromit is meant to be a tight fit. i had the carb on and all the lines replaced in less then 20 minutes and it started up on the 3 pull

I got this for a Makita BJX2500 and it went on in about 5 min. Now this brand new blower thay I picked up for $20 at a yard sale is humming like a well oiled...well, leaf blower.

The carb is OK. Wrong material being used for fuel line. It swells and disintegrated after coming contact with gasoline. I reused the old fuel line.
