Review: The Uninvited True Story - In the beginning of reading this book from the first few pages I was thinking I was going to give this rating a two star due to me feeling like some of the things in the book was irrelevant about how his wife left him and how his daughter was born breech and a whole lot of family and off the wall nonsense that had me getting ready to throw the book away. Well let me tell you don't let that deter you or put the book away it is really good and after reading further on I had to give this book a five star rating. The author talks about what he went through, things of a typical haunting, seeing things and hearing things on a bad level, the spirit didn't want them there and not afraid to show it. Finally he and his three children left and a new family came in and this is when the books wake up to being interesting. The new tenant and her family went through pure hell and the author was there for her even when her husband wasn't because of how he was raised believing you should leave well enough alone when it comes to spirits, even the priest gave to put in the authors own words "Half-assed blessing". Different paranormal groups came and went some said they had ghosts and told the author their names while others came and said it was evil demons with a new set of names, while the others brought beer and hard liquor and went outside to spoke pot in their cars while the rest of the paranormal group was doing their jobs. The author and the new tenant (Helen) was always at a dead end and had to start back to square one. They eventually took matters into their own hands. I really enjoyed this book enough to go online to read more and lo and behold this author has been on the history channel "A Haunting" and I remember seeing this story and let me tell you the show did not do the author any justice. They left out soooooooo many things that were covered in the book which I understand you can't get everything in a one hour show from months of history. When I saw A Haunting I remember the author and he looks the same from the picture on the book. My only regret the book didn't have photos or images, I would have liked to seen the picture the Christian women took before the Demon ran the hell out of them outside!(Literally). There are numerous spirits in that house and I do believe the author and I believe his story is genuine. You will get a good read I feel and not disappointed.
Review: The Uninvited:The True Story of The Union Screaming House - THE UNINVITED was a nice scare. Steven LaChance's story kept me turning the pages. It is supposed to be a true tale, and especially toward the end, seemed a little unbelievable, though it did have me sleeping with the light on, and feeling unseen eyes, as warned in the beginning of the book. I think the book is well-written, and a smooth read, and having children, can relate to Steven's plight, at least where affordable housing is concerned. I can't believe that his Helen character (or Helen the person) or anyone else would stay in that house as long as she did with all of the horrific things that allegedly occurred. I live in a house that isn't nearly as old as Steven's, but both of the former owners are deceased, and sometimes I feel or imagine things that I later dismiss. However, "screaming", "Hell Hounds", "Hooded Figures".... I would be out the door.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ You know the house is bad news when you are warned about the very location!

Uninvited: The True Story of the Union Screaming House by Steven LaChance and Laura Long-Helbig This story is about the horror experienced by Mr. LaChance and his three children in the house at 809 North Christina Ave., Union, Missouri. (The exact address may be incorrect but it is the one I found while researching this on the Internet.) For the LaChance family, life had been hard. The mother of the family deserted Steven and her three children. Raising three children as a single dad, Steven LaChance had to be constantly finding new places to live as his children grew. Having two sons and a daughter meant he really needed three bedrooms. Having outgrown their apartment, the advertisement for the house looked great. Three bedrooms, full partially finished basement, and an actual yard where the kids could play. The owner acts suspiciously, but Steven fills he is just eccentric. The haunting began almost immediately. There were booming noises, voices, poltergeist activity, full blown apparitions, and physical attacks. It soon became evident that whatever was in the house wanted the LaChance family out. After the house locked his children in a bedroom where Steven couldn’t reach them, he and his family had had enough. They moved out. Steven was there for other families that moved in and met the same forces of evil. He formed the MPR (Missouri Paranormal Research) to work on cases like the Union House. This story will make you question whether or not hauntings are real and whether or not the unseen world can interact and even threaten the physical world. It is well written and highly interesting. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. This book rates five stars out of five for the pacing of the story, the vivid descriptions, and the way Mr. LaChance presents his case. Excellent! Quoth the Raven…
