HP Laserjet 4100 Fuser Maintenance Kit C8057A

Fixed the broken fuser in our HP LaserJet 4100TN. That machine is a workhorse, and really doesn't owe me anything at this point. But buying a new workgroup printer is clearly far more expensive than a simple fuser replacement. I consider these 'wear' items, just like replacing the brakes on your car. It's just something you'll end up replacing after enough time and/or printed pages.The main part fit just fine, directions on hp site worked perfectly. However I couldn't use the replacement roller, as the diameter of the metal rod at the end was too big for my printer - some kind of incompatibility. The one on my printer starts out the same diameter as the replacement one, but then reduces down to a smaller size in the last cm. I also had mixed success with the rubber pick-up rollers; they were easy to replace, but even though they are keyed to the driving shaft, the outer part of the roller would slip and not grab the paper properly. I repeated the problem with multiple rollers in the kit. And it wasn't operator error in replacement, as when I replaced the original ones with the same process, they went back to working just fine.So, if it's the fuser you're after, this is your ticket for a HP Laserjet 4100/TN.2017-05 Update: Original fuser lasted 200k pages and at least 8 years; replacement fuser failed completely within 9 months and a fraction of the page count. Plastic shards came out of fuser and paper would be mangled like a shredder. You can decide if $80/year is worth spending to keep a workgroup printer alive. I ordered a replacement - will see if it has more longevity

Upon receipt we noticed that a spring and black plastic part had become separated from the fuser. Fortunately, we figured out where it needed to be attached and was able to fix the issue. Not sure how this happened, but if it did not we would have given 100% FIVE (5) star rating.The unit was professionally packaged and the parts all looked fine. We were able to follow the instructions and install the kit correctly. Printer is working fine.In total would recommend this unit and this company, as they delivered a product that was exactly what we ordered in accordance with the schedule they provide upon receipt of our order.

Prints copies for less than 2 cents each including paper and ink. Some of the printers we have hadcost 8 cents to make each copy and are worn out after a couple thousand copies if they even last that long.

I had intended to purchase an HP OEM maintenance kit. This listing uses the same model numbers and description, but is clearly NOT the HP OEM C8057A kit. It fit the printer (although the pick-up rollers were a tough fit and had to almost be forced on) and fixed the print issues we were experiencing, but it should be clearly noted that this is NOT the OEM HP kit.

My HP LJ4100 suffered damage when a (cheap, badly made) re-manufactured toner cartridge leaked.Along with some elbow grease, this kit restored it to "like-new" printing.Kit quality is spot-on.Several reams later, still going perfectly.

I really didn't know that I had to replace so many of these things until my printer refused to work...but now I can do it quickly and easily for a reasonable price and fast shipping
